How do I fix this?

This is a DRM error. The movie industry put copy protection into your tv. If you put a device that doesn't support it the copy protection it will disable features.. Solution take the tv back and get one without hdcp.

My tv is saying not supported format on hdm1

hey some hd tvs are unable to to support the high band width digital content protection(hdcp) therefore if hdcp which is a digital rights protection management system that protects copyrighted content when connecting to electronic components with either HDMI and DVI,So checkon tv settings to allow secure connection and make sure you chose HDMI/DVI in set picture format on cable box general setting and try to reboot the cable box, wait for clock to appear and start the the tv.

I have a sceptre model x9g-naga v flat screen monitor that I am trying to connect my x box 360 to. It allows me to play games, but when I put in a movie, it says, secure hdcp link not found. I was told...

A simple work around that could be able to fix it is by turning on the xbox, waiting until the screen showed the logo and the error message "secure hdcp link not found" then unplugging the hdmi cable from the back of the xbox and plugging it back in. Of course having to do this each time you wanted to turn on your Xbox would be annoying. (I have not tested this using VGA cable hookup though)

If you are asking how to change your Xbox to 480i then you will need simply use the red, yellow, and white cable as it defaults to 480i. (not possible with your monitor I don't think)
  1. On your console, go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.
  2. Select Console Settings.
  3. Select Display.
  4. Select HDTV Settings.
  5. Select the appropriate screen resolution for your TV or monitor. 480p,720p,1080i,1080p, 1024x768, 1280x1024.

I am assuming from your TV that you are using VGA? With VGA then your system is going to automatically choose the best display for your monitor. You can go into the display settings as described above to adjust your display settings.

Hope this helps.

I bought night and day from xbox and its saying you need a secure connection betweenyour console and tv

It sounds that connection between XBOX and your TV not compatible with HDCP standard. Try connecting it via HDMI it will be the best possible choice. If it is already connected with HDMI then try to use another cable. Wish you all the best!

Through Sky+ HD when selecting the HDMI connection I get the following statement through Sky "This diplay does not support HDCP....." Any help please Rob

hi,

try to connect the set top box in any other HDMI input of ur tv. reason is bellow read it carefully.

p { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; } HDCP stands for High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection and was developed by ----------. It's nothing more than a security feature requiring compatibility between the sender and receiver, like HD cable set-top box and the TV. By compatibility, mean HDCP technology built into both devices.
Think of HDCP as a security license key like you would input when installing a computer program. Only this security key is invisible to you and me but not your TV.
It works by encrypting a digital signal with a key that requires authentication from the transmitting and receiving product. If authentication fails then the signal fails, which means no picture on the TV screen.

Buy a HDTV that has HDCP capabilities. Most will have this in at least one HDMI input but be sure to verify this before buying the TV.

Notice that "in at least one port." Not every HDMI port on the TV will be HDCP compliant so be sure to read your TV user manual if you plan on connecting a HDMI cable to your TV.

No video when trying to watch netflix on xbox.

Have you gone to My Xbox, System Settings, and selected the appropriate high definition video setting? Do you have it set up on your TV as well? Both need to be set for HDMI.
