You may need to re-install some drivers.
Please go to http://www.devicedoctor.com/ and let the freeware software find your missing or outdated drivers.

Cant get speaker to work hear only static

First try to attach the speaker to another device, DV Player, Amp, Audio Receiver, etc. See if the set works on any other device and if they do; the problem is with the computer sound in or software that allows the speakers to generate sound-out. Check also that you have the computer set to play sound! Look at the speaker symbol at the lower right of the screen and it should indicate it is active. Right click and it should tell you if it 100%. Open the Volume Mixer and see if your speakers are recognized and set the Volume. Always make certain the speakers are attached to the proper GREEN in port on the sound section on the back-side of the computer. If you have more than one colored plugs, be certain to insert according to the color.

Magicjack and a usb handset device from tigerjet are suddenly in my computer's speaker mixers. now I get no sound through my computers speaker, however that sound is coming through my telephone speaker...

I am assuming you are on a windows machine.

Right click on the speaker icon (volume control icon) normally located near the time lower right hand corner of the task bar. When you right click a sub-menu should pop up.

Select "Playback devices" and then select the "Speakers" option you wish the sound to play back on.

Hope this helps.

Mixer turns on, but no sound on any channel... If I move the slider up and down I hear scratching and popping noises from speakers but no music... Any idea what the problem might be or can you tell me if...

The list is too long to post here... and you have not told us the configuration of your system. There are hundreds of mistake an operator can make... and you don't tell us what the "speakers" are you are mentioning... I ASSUME that these are NOT just computer speakers. From the main outputs you should have BALANCED cables (TRS or XLR) cables tying to your amplifies or powered speakers. Put a signal into channel 1 and make sure the mute button is up for that channel... move the main fader up and some sound should go through. When tied to a PC you have to have drivers installed and WIndows configured to use the mixer for VOICE input and SOUND recording in "Sounds and Devices" in the Windows control panel. Use headphones to verify the audio is going through the mixing buss portion of the mixer.

My rear speakers on a lifestyle 28 are not working. All others function fine. Cables abd connections have all been checked and deem "good".....any ideas

make sure the speakers are ok...you can use a "AA" battery across the terminals on the speakers to see if you hear a popping sound...if these are ok, then the problem most likely would be in the internal circuits of the amplifier. You may need to have a tech look at it if this is the case.

My speakers stopped working suddenly

Hello....No Sound, No Volume Control, Mixer not Found, No Sound device installed…etc etc, This is a generic issue with Windows OS....many of the users are facing this issue....
1 - r u facing NO Audio/Sound issue...?
2 - is ur Volume Control not responding ?
3 - is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ?
4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?

if ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....NOTE..VERY..IMPORTANT...no file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it….

Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just trying to do some service.

Simply no sound from PC

Check if you have plugged in the stereo pin to the right port on the PC.
Open sound control (in control panel) and check if the both speaker(main volume) and the wave volume sliders are not set to the lowest.

I cant get a sound out from my speaker. though windows media player is working . It is always telling me that no active mixer is installed, please install mixer device. And in the sound evrything...

you need to re-install your sound drivers. if problem presist, it might need to replace sound card, if sound card is built on motherboard, you may need to purchase a new PCI sound card from market.

There is no sound

Plug the speakers into the green connector first of all.

Make sure the speakers/amplifier are working on another source.

Since you have the volume control on your systray (it is there, right?), you do have an audio card installed (or integrated one at least).

You might try this forum also to troubleshoot the error message about there being no mixer device:

http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=44823

This has to do with a WinXP WIndows Update perhaps.

No active mixer's

please define "reformat". A reformat to me means a complete "renewal" of both hard drive and op sys. If you agree, then windows did not detect your sound card during re-install. Open device manager and look for ant yellow markings next to the list of the sound system drivers. Those markings are telling you there is a driver problem, so proceed to update the drivers for each device. (for help-post back). If no devices exist in the list, then you must do the following: 1.) if secondary "plug-in" sound card, power down, remove card, power up to windows, shut down windows, plug in card, start windows. 2.) if MOBO-based sound, open BIOS screen at startup and ensure that all options are enabled for sound.
