SOURCE: how do i find my built in hdd1 password

If you are talking about a hard drive password that the computer prompts you for at bootup you are out of luck. A hard drive password is one of the most secure, but also most dangerouse because there is not master password to get past it, or way to wipe it out. If it is a bios password or motherboard password then there are ways, but if it is truely a hard drive password then to my knowlege there is no way around it.

Entered built in HDD1 user password

Hello

as the bios was reset the harddrive password was removed from the bios memory.

To get the password unlocked you will need to remove the harddrive from the laptop, buy a adapter so you can connect it to your pc and then do a few things Il tell you about later if your going to do it.

otherwice you can take the harddrive to a shop to be unlocked / reset to defaults.

HDD1 pasword

This is a feature in newer laptops, to protect the files on a "stolen" laptop from being accessed by the thief.

If you have set a password, enter the password.

If you have not set a password, did one of your friends/family set a password?

If no password has been set, turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the battery.
Reinsert the battery.
Restart the computer, and see if it still asks for the password.

I have a 215-s4767 when i turn it on it says to enter built in hdd1 user password

Did you receive this laptop from someone else, as the owner of the laptop should have the password.

If this isn't an option, try contacting Toshiba support directly.

If all else fails, you may have to replace the hard drive, as these passwords are hard to crack, unless you send your laptop to a professional data recovery expert.

Turned on laptop and message? appeared: Please Enter Built-in HDD1 User Password [ ]

Hard drive password security has been enabled. If you do not know who did it or what the password is you are limited in options. Most times this requires a new hard drive and OS.
