I spent $14 or so yesterday and about 30 minutes with your expert named "coolguy008"

He was not able to solve the problem. I would like not to be charged since I did not get a solution to my problem.

I let the first battery get too low and then stay in the camera overnight. The problem seems to have started at about that time. When I put in a second fully charged battery the language, time, date screen came up. And has done so ever since that happened which was about two weeks ago.

I have had this camera for over a year and it has always worked great. It has never been dropped, or subject to cold or wet.

I have previously printed out the 265 page Casio EX-Z1000 manual if that is what you are going to get.

I made sure that the battery was in the craddle long enough for the light to turn green (a full charge on the battery).

Then I tried the time and date settings but they still don't hold when the camera is turned off and back on.

    Now what???

I left the camera in the docking station long enough to get a full battery charge (green light) Then I tried the Reset and the Reformat and the date and time entry. When the camera is turned off the date and time are lost. This all started with a low battery about two weeks ago.

I tried everything you two teams could offer and nothing works. I would appreciate not being charged for the time.

I shipped my camera to a Casio service center yesterday.

If regardless of entering the details correctly, you might need to contact a service center for a diagnosis and possible repairs.

Hi again,

I gave you all the possible solutions in my chat to fix this issue. The first thing i suggested you to do was to reconfigure your settings.Which Robotek just told you to do.

I also gave you the email id to ask for a refund if you aren't satisfied with my solution. We spent almost 1 hour to get this fixed.

Please give this a try again:

    everytime
you start the EXILIM Z/S series camera ..
press the SET button once date is entered.Make sure you don't press
the 'MENU' button once entering the date. This of course doesn't save
the date and the camera keeps asking your for a date everytime you turn
    it on!

You were in hurry to attend a meeting yesterday when we had a chat.So that's why i couldn't tell you this.

    I hope this helps.

    Please reply back..

    Goodluck..

hhmmm it appears that the camera does have a volatile memory for date and time, as it will ask you to enter these datails everytime that you change the battery. The trick it would appear is to keep the battery charged using the cradle charger. Are you charging until the green light comes on?

here it is on page 34 of the manual it mentions what I have indicated to you already that the camera will not retain date and time functions if the battery is removed from the camera.

There is an interesting advice regarding world time on page 187 also, where you need to enter your home town time into the camera also for the world time to stick. Are you setting up both each time?

Try resetting the camera by removing the battery for 5mins, replace the battery and open the camera's Menu then scrool to the Date & Time setting to set the current date and time.
If the problem still exist then you need to take the camera to a digital camera repairer.

Can't change date or time on my new Pentax K2000

Date/time are set at "first use" or through the tools menu.
Remove the batteries.  Leave the camera overnight, this may be enough to lose the current settings and allow setting new date/time.
Press Menu button.
Press right arrow on the 4-way controller to get the Tools (spanner) highlighted.
Press down arrow to get to date (or time).
Press right arrow
Now set to your preferred format.

If this does not work, try changing another item in the Tools menu.  If that change is not accepted, then it's into the dealer.

Have to reset date and time every time I turn it on!

If you have to do that each time you shut it off and turn it back on try this. Take your memory card out and format your internal memory. Reset the camera and then re-enter the information. Shut the camera off and turn it back on and hopefully it will still be in there. If not then you have an internal memory error and that needs to be fixed by Casio.

Cannot set the Time/Date

Setting the Date and Time The date/time needs to be set if/when: Camera is turned on for the first time. Camera is turned on after leaving ViviCam X60 without the battery for an extended period of time. When the date and time information is not displayed on the LCD monitor, follow these steps to set the correct date and time. 1. Slide the mode switch to [replay ], and press the MENU button. 2. Select [Setup2] with the LEFT ARROW button. 3. Select [Date/Time] with the UP ARROW / DOWN ARROW buttons, and press the SET button. The Date/Time setting screen will be displayed:[Setup] [Format], [On/Off]. 4. Select [Setup] with UP ARROW / DOWN ARROW buttons, and press the SET button. Select the item’s field with theLEFT ARROW / RIGHT ARROW buttons and adjust the value for the date and time with the UP ARROW / DOWN ARROW buttons. The date and time is displayed as the format you set. The time is displayed in 24-hour format. After confirming all settings are correct, press the SET button. The setting will be stored and the screen will return to the Setup2 menu.

Set date and time comes up every time i turn on camera

Try resetting your camera. In picture taking mode press menu. Go to setup, go up to reset, press right arrow, make sure reset is highlighted and press set.

Then TAKE OUT MEMORY CARD. Go back into menu, go to setup, go up to format, press right arrow and highlight format, press set. Input ur date and time again and then power off and back on. If that doesn't help then you have to send into repairs. 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2 and they will tell you where to send it.

Cannot turn date stamp off and date keeps resetting

Try removing battery from camera then wait 10 seconds before installing. This action resets camera.

If no work, locate your camera software version. Procedure should be in manual, else could probably find it in a google search. Then locate latest version with a google search, or panasonic camera website, or call to customer service and ask.

It you do not have latest version, ask customer service how to download it.

Camera won't format flash card

Ok. Don't mark me down for this answer because it seems you are at the end of the rope. This is what I got off the Konica support site. Question- How long does it take to reset date after the batteries are removed? A rechargable battery cell is built in the DiMAGE A200 for date/time backup. However, in case the camera is left for a long period of time, the camera is not able to keep the date/time setting if the dedicated battery has been removed before storage. If the date and time was reset, it is necessary to set them again. An internal battery is charged from the camera battery, and fully charged for approx. 30 hours. An internal battery protects the settings for approx. 240 hours (approx. 10 days) if it is fully charged. NewMediaMan- So, you'd have to leave the camera without the battery, for a long time to reset it. Konica Support site: Question- Unable to use card. Format?' alert appears. Answer: The following conditions are presumed: - File system of the card was changed by formatting with PC. - The card was formatted with other memory card device. Basically we recommend the users to format by using the camera. (All the data in the memory card will be erased.) As the memory card may have defects in itself, please try other memory card, if you have other memory cards. My solution(s) Step 1. You could try taking the camera into a Best Buy or someplace like that and ask if they have a spare card you could try in your camera. Perhaps they have a demo camera that they could swap out the card. It wouldn't hurt to try that first. Step 2. If possbile, leave the camera without the battery for about 2 weeks to see if it will reset the internal components. It's a free fix. Step 3. Purchase a new CF card and see what it does. And I need a good rating so please be kind. Thanks. Rob NewMediaMan
