I have a 2004 Sea Doo GTI LE That clicks like a bad batt. I have a new batt installed. Ocassionally it will turn over like it should but only for a second. Any suggestions.

There is a bad connection at the battery terminals or cable connections, check the battery posts and cable terminals are shiny clean, check the earth cable is clean and tight at the chassis , check the cable to the starter motor is tight and clean, if all is good there the starter may be at fault.

Key turns in ignition but nothing happens battery good and lights come on do i need a new starter and how do i get to it to remove old one

First troubleshoot. Have to tried jumping the car? Are the battery terminals clean and tight? If all this is good, you can try jumping the solenoid to see if the starter/solenoid is bad. I have posted procedures at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5821173-doesnt_car_start_gasoline_engines.

Please let me know if you have questions. If you decide the starter is bad, there are instructions here for replacing it: http://www.fixya.com/cars/r5973094-starter_replace

Negative Post for Battery

For jumping connection it is under the hood, directly between the red capped post and the driver side. It says GRD on the post. Good luck.

I have had problems starting my vehicle. sometimes it takes 5 to 30 attempts of turning the key to even get it to start. the problem seem to not be as apparent when parked downhill on a slope, but now it...

it seems the starter is bad. you have the classic symptom. but first, clean the battery terminals with a battery terminal cleaner, a wire brush specifically designed for it. possibly a loose cable connection to the starter. make sure battery terminals are tight. if corroded, disconnect the cables and use a wire brush to clean heavy build up and then pour very hot water over them, almost boiling, the corrosion will disappear. if you have a radio that requires a code with regards to theft, make sure you have the code.

I have a 2006 Mazda 6 that won't start. It just clicks even when jumping it and the gauges bounce up and down. Even after you turn the key off.You can hear some clicking under the hood for a while after...

This may sound silly, but pull the cables off the battery and clean the posts and terminals really well with a wire brush or post/terminal cleaning tool. (these are REALLY cheap at the parts store and work wonders!) This may be your problem. Corrosion = poor connection. If not that, try new battery. Good luck.

2004 Nissan Armada 5.6 Liter. Parked it and it

Did you remove the battery terminals and clean the battery posts and the terminals interiors with a special cleaning wire brush (from an auto parts house)? At this point, you may need to recharge the battery overnight at 4 to 6 amps. Buy a tube of anti-corrosion grease and smear over the battery posts and inside the terminals. Make sure you wash your hands after working on the battery, or you may wind up with strange holes in your clothes. As a test of your charging system, measure the voltage across the battery terminals while the engine is running (high idle)--you should measure about 13.5 to 14.5 volts. With engine off, it will measure 12.6 volts. If the running voltage is 12.6 or less, the alternator circuit is in trouble and not charging.

When I turn the key, all I hear is the clicking sound. Battery appears to be okay, had it checked a month ago by Sears. A jumpstart doesn't work either.

It's the starter. You can probably get it started by finding a long steel rod, or a long garden rake stick(with the rake removed)...get under the hood, find the starter, and tap hard on the starter while someone in the truck is trying to start it. I mean really bang on the starter! It should start, but you will have to change the starter eventually.

Give it a try.
