Need cable for old generation ipod (July 2002 model)

I bought an old generation ipod yesterday off Craig's List. Didn't realize till I got home that the cable it came with doesn't have a USB connection, it has a FireWire connection. Anybody know where I can buy a cable with this funky FireWire connection on one end and the normal USB connection on the other?

Regarding to your problem ,There are two ways to unlock your craig wireless notebook. The first is to recover your password on your google account. You can login by using computer or through your device by putting 5x incorrect password until the google login shown. But you can do this if your wifi is On. The second is to hard rest your android device, unfortunately i can`t find exact info of what you need to press but you can try the following: *Volume Up + Home + Power *Home + Power *Volume Up + Volume Down + Power *Volume Up + Camera *Volume Up + Volume Down + Power

How to convert video to iPod video MP4 format?

You have an Apple iPod and would like to watch your favorite home video using it? But you do not know how to convert your files into iPod compatible format? AVS Video Converter is just the program you need to solve this problem now. This simple yet powerful video converter utility enables you to transfer your home video library to iPod (MP4/h.264) format with a few mouse clicks.
What you need:
All you need to transfer your home video and video files to your iPod is:
1. AVS Video Converter
2. iPod capable of video playback with a computer compatible cable
Now AVS Video Converter uses AVS Mobile Uploader included in the AVS Video Converter installation package to upload the files to your iPod.

Step 1: Download and install AVS Video Converter

Step 2: Run AVS Video Converter and select your input video file
To select a video you would like to convert hit the Browse... button next to the Input File Name field. In the opened Windows Explorer window browse for the necessary video file:

Step 3: Set up the conversion parameters
After you have selected the video input file, press To MP4 button on the main panel. In the list of Profiles (MP4 Profile Field) select one of the offered iPod profiles. You can also click Edit Profile button to manually set the iPod profile parameters.

- Apple iPod - (MPEG4, 320*240)
You can also click Edit Profile button to manually set the iPod profile parameters.

Step 4: Set up a proper video output file path
Click the Browse... button next to the Output File Name field and select a location on your HDD for the output video file.
Note: when you select a location for your output video file, you should save the file to your personal computer HDD.

Step 5: Convert your video files
After you have set up all the conversion parameters, hit the Convert Now! button to start converting.

Ipod is disabled

Attach a USB connector to the iPod and plug it into a USB connection on a computer for power, or into a stand alone USB charger plugged into a power strip for electrical power.

Pick up the iPod. Move the "Hold" switch at the top of the iPod to the "Locked" position so that an orange color appears by the switch. Return the switch to the "Unlocked" position.

Repeat this process.

Press and hold the "Home" button and the button at the top right corner together if using a fifth generation iPod, iPod Nano, iPod Mini or iPod with a click wheel.

Press and hold the "Menu" button and the "Play/Pause" button together if using an iPod Touch. Press and hold the "Menu" button and the "OK" button together if using an older iPod.

Continue holding the buttons together until the screen flashes and then displays the iPod name and the Apple logo.

Release the buttons.

Wait as the iPod resets itself and turns itself back on.

or

Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of your iPod.

Plug the other end of the iPod USB cable into a free USB port on your Mac or PC.

Open the iTunes application by using the dock icon on a Mac or the start menu on a PC.

Click on the name of your iPod under the "Devices" list in the main iTunes window.

Click on the "Sync" button to create a connection between the computer and the iPod.

Click on the eject symbol after the syncing process is complete, and then unplug your iPod from the computer.

The lock code has been reset; when you go to disable the iPod again, you will be prompted to choose a new four-digit code.

hope this helps

I cannot set up my craig mp4 player to my windows 7. what can I do

http://www.craigelectronics.com/site/pdetails.php?id=289
This is teh manufacturer site ..and they do not specify any driver for it ..This means either you got the driver for it on a disk ..and you need to install it from it ..and after that connect the player with the usb cable ...and will detect it ..and the autoplay will pop up and ask for an action ..or the player should be recognized by the windows automatically cause it uses compatible driver already present in windows..If this didn't happen change the usb port ..and look for one that will work ..and also try it in another computer and see if it works ..If it does it means your operation system needs some drivers or have an issue ..
Most players on the last generation work automatically ..specially in windows Vista and windows7 .
To be sure it is detected take a look in computer folder and see if it is present there like a removable storage or so ..In some cases the auto-play might be disabled ..and the folder of the computer appear automatically in the drives folder

I'm at my wits end with this laptop. Right now I can't get it to start up Windows. Here's some history: March 08 - Purchased from Best Buy as an open box (display) item. July 09 - Laptop was dropped...

I have personally worked on over a dozen of this model, all of which were "Display Models" for some reason, all from either Wal-Mart or Best Buy. The laptop getting dropped probably has nothing to do with it, several models from the last two or three years from both Toshiba and Dell have had major issues with HDDs becoming corrupted or damaged internally for NO reason, but for some other 'strange reason' neither of them will acknowlege these obvious design flaws.
I would think going to some place like Tigerdirect.com and looking for a new one (not a Dell or Toshiba) would be a smart idea- Cut your losses and list that dead one on ebay "As-Is'

My husbands Acer laptop was bought July 2009. Yesterday it stopped working. backlight comes on but nothing else. The hard drive light does not come on.

It seems that you have an error on your bios or the motherboard. If you do not have extended waranty call up the call centre and register you complaint. Look for the nearest Acer service centre to have the fault estimated. Before you send the laptop for service get all your data on the harddisc transferred. This is important as all your photos/videos should not go public and must be protected. It is easy to transfer them if you can ask for the hardisc to be attached to a conversion USB cord to be loaded into a USB or your Home system. I hope you will do accordingly and my advice helps. Good day
