Thanks for your message, I haven't been able to reply because my computer has gotten worse since I posted the last message and haven't been able to use the machine at all. I have cleaned the inside of the computer, and may I add, taken all the components out and cleaned them too, (as this was my first thought of rectifying the problem), but this didn't seem to work. I have not attempted to reset the mother board as I don't know how. Processor and fan malfunctions are now what I'm considering also, but as I don't know much about hardware I don't know how to run checks to enable a me to single out and identify the main cause of the shutdown. It is a quite an old computer, (around 7 or 8 years), but has been running fine right up to this point. I don't think it would be worth spending out to get a technician to look at it, so I would like to fix it myself and gain some insight into hardware issues, (it's always good to know whats underneath the bonnet). So thanks again for your reply and hope to hear back from you soon. Best regards, Jay.

the shut down's were probably related to your current problem, the firmare on your hard disc will know when a system failure is immenant and shuts off; it's sounds as if your hard drive which has the operating system on it has failed and therefore giving the 'system loading error'.
If you are not computer savvy, then take to a repairer and tell them that you have a suspect hard drive failure and they should be able to replace and reinstall windows as long as you have the windows installation disc.
hi, only thing thats worth trying is switch the pc on and keep pressing F8 a menu should appear select Safe Mode. and see if it works, if it dont, im afraid you will require a windows disk.
if you do get it loaded in safe mode, post a message i will get you to try a few other things to fix the problem..
