Are other formats, like JPG, working okay? Unselect multiple pages so that you get on image per sheet. Reinstall scanning software after a 'scandisk' command.

First clean the glass thoroughly using IPA (Iso Propyl Alcohol) Dont use any solvents. If you are getting the same result even after this, there could be a module problem.

SOURCE: Line going down page

Don't know if this is a solution per se but I replaced the glass bar (there is a part # on it) on the inside front of the scanner and still got a line. Then I played around with the back scanner glass and still got a line then I got in there real good and cleaned and when I scanned something it would show no lines until I saved the document then I got two lines. Thought it was my software going haywire but I did not give up, got some canned air and alcohol and cleaned the glass once again and blew out every part I could find and the problem resolved itself. Apparently the smallest piece of lint or dust, smudge or anything foreign on the scanner lenses will cause this line. But I love this scanner and I wasn't willing to give it up or pay $600 for a new one. Only had it a little more than a year. Persistence seems to be the key but check those little scanner bars and be careful, they are tricky to get out.

I havent used Canon 2580C and hence cant comment on Scan Panel. But you can download SU5000 or Captureperfect 2.0 from Canon website (http://software.canon-europe.com/). This is easy to use and probably offers more features as compared to ScanPanel. Canon 5010C is a higher model as compared to 2589C and Captureperfect may offer better user interface.

You need to change the glass! It is not easily available in the market. Ensure that the electronics, particularly the LED module is not disturbed. While removing the glass, you need to keep the module 'glass-up' and unscrew the side catch, gently replace the glass and refix it.

Sounds like you have a lot of miles on them. Probably not designed for the heavy usage you guys do. You could clean or replace the feed rollers, but I would not spend too much on them.

Probably better to upgrade with new. Maybe a 7550 or a 7510 if you need a flat glass. The new ones will be faster than the old ones, you may only need 3 or 4 to replace the 10 depending on the locations need. I have a 7550, and it's very fast. Scans both sides in one pass. Just _no flat glass !
Had a 7510 before. Had flat glass, but slower. I update at least every 3 years. (And use it a lot less than you) Youve had these for 'years'? Time to say bye. donate them and get a write off. Start with one new one. See if you like it.

If they are as worn as I suspect, they will cost more to repair than they are worth, by time you count the repair guys time too.

Canon DR-2050C Scanner gets verticle line down image

I have the same issue with mine and there are 2 image sensors on this scanner. 1 in the back that you will see when you open the front that has a meteal shield covering the top half, and one in the fold out front that faces the inside. These are the "glass" sections everyone is refering to. Problem is, they are plexiglass, not glass and mine has a tiny scratch in the lens that is causing the line. This could be your problem. find the lens and use a LED flashlight to inspect your lens for scratches. If its scratched like mine, the entire module has to be replaced to fix it. The canon part number is MH7-7038 and they range from $125-$160 if you replace it yourself. The one in the front is easy to do, but the back one is a little tricky. Hope this helps. E. Please blow air and clean the sensors. There could be a small piece if paper causing this. The scanner must be assuming that there is paper.

Streaks in image scanned by Canon DR-2580C Path-Through

The staples cannot reach the sensors. They could have scratched the glass above the sensors. Clean the glass with IsoPropyl alcohol. Try scanning a few images to find if the scratch marks are on the same place on all images. Once confirmed that the glass is scratched, you can change the glass. You need a technical expertise to change or call service staff.
