Question about Alpine Car Audio & Video
I think we have a little confusion going on here, the CHA S604 is a 6 CD change as you mentioned... there is no faceplate to this unit, it is just a solid "cd changer" unit with the removable disc changer portion. There is a radio attached to this, and it has a faceplate on it but it will have a different model number.
Regardless though it will pop out from the dash with a little prying from a flat head screwdriver, or by the use of a "key" which is the proper method. The key I refer to is a little metal device that comes with the head unit (radio - player) and slides into the sides and "pops" the deck out of the dash. Hardly anyone keeps these keys, especially for a player as old as this one, chances are it's long gone. To be the most gentle to your car possible I recommend you swing it by a local car audio place and see if they can just pop it out for you... most places will do this for free since they know many people don't keep their keys to the radios and want to offer good customer service... hoping you will buy a radio from them.
It literally takes like 20 seconds with the key to get it out... I would see if you can find someone to help you do this. If you want - please reply with your zip code and I will find someone in your area.
