What is the chain brake an where

not on the older chainsaws
newer ones it s normally the black lever you hold
Check the Chain Brake
Make sure the chain brake is working properly by putting the chainsaw on a stable surface. Release the chain brake, squeeze the throttle and then activate the chain brake by pushing your left wrist against the kick back protection without releasing the handle. This should cause the chain to stop rotating immediately.

Tried to replace my chainsaw on my husqvarna 445, but the brake seems to have not released, so I can't get it back together

Not an easy thing to reset either. You can try putting chain brake back on with the retaining nut(s) loose so don't go flying. Now place the reset handle as far forward it will go. While pressing hard with hand at the chain reset location of the cover pull back on the reset handle. This should reset the brake.

Note this will not always work and sometimes you need a saw shop to help reset it.

Trouble securing homelite clutch cover

If it has a chain brake it might have gone off(released)when taken off or put down. It would be a circular spring or other device which stops the chain when released. Pull back on the handle while holding the cover and it will hold back allowing you to put it back on.

How do I put the saw on the pole

1. Remove battery from chain saw.

2. Separate main handle from chain saw

power head by pressing both release

buttons on main handle and pulling

apart. The release buttons are just in

front of the trigger.

3. Align rib on chain saw power head with

groove in power head adapter on pole.

4. Slide power head into power head

adapter until units "snap" together.

IMPORTANT: Both release

buttons on power head adapter must be

fully engaged.

5. Align rib on handle adapter on pole

with groove in main handle.

6. Slide main handle into handle adapter

until units "snap" together.

IMPORTANT: Both release buttons

on main handle must be fully

engaged.

7. Slide battery onto main handle until

release buttons "snap" together.

Be sure the battery is charged.

To extend the pole:

1. Loosen the clamping

lever. Pole will slide

freely.

2. Pull inner pole section out to desired

length of extension.

3. To lock pole in position, tighten clamping

lever.

How do you put the chain back on the track of a Husqvqrna e series 235 chain saw.

You need to make sure the blade is not damaged. You need to release the chain tension screw, most cases; you turn in counter clock wise to release the tension rod. Do it in the reverse when you reinstall chain to tighten it back up to operating conditions.

First time using a chain saw. put the oil in. plugged into an extention. pressed both safety and trigger buttons together, but nothing happens. is there any other lock that i need too release to get it...

Most electric machines will have a micro switch connected to the chain brake, grab the hand guard and pull it fully back the the top handle, you should hear a click as the brake lpcks, now try again.

Took off cover to put chain on and can't get the cover back on the brake band doesn't sit right

You need to release the brake mechanism in the cover so that the brake band will expand enough to pass over the clutch drum. You should have released the chain brake before removing the cover, but that doesn't help now. Use a wide heavy screwdriver to release the mechanism. Hope this helps!

Garage door opener stopped working I replaced batteries in the remote the door bell button starts the motor but the chain does not engage Does work manually

Perhaps you pulled the emergency release cord to release the drive mechanism from the chain up on the track. Push the cam lever back up to reengage the drive follower to the chain. BJ.

Installing cam chain on 09 CRF 450. It seems that I don't enough slack in the cam chain to fit it around the camshaft sprocket.

check that the new cam chain is roughly the same length as the old one, ensure that it is properly installed on the bottom (crank) sprocket, make sure that your tensioner is backed off fully, even after all of this you will still find that the chain seems too short, tip the cam to the left side of the engine & your chain should slip on..double check your cam timing with cam cap snugged down & tensioner released.

Ryobi gas chainsaw- chainsaw brake is stuck on. How do I release

You just have to pull the lever back, like it was on the saw, until it clicks/unlocks. It may be hard to do, but thats what has to be done.
