pleeeeease pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease tell me if you guys fixed your vx2000s cuz im going through the exact same thing! i just bought off a friend and it hasnt worked once since i got it and i think its because of internal batterie problems or getting messed up in the mail but please respondd to this. pleassssse

Why wont my dcr-vx2000 record? The light comes on but it will not record. All it plays back is a blue screen.
Really sounds like it just needs to be cleaned. Use denatured alcohol , cleaning sticks and swabs . sticks on the heads and never go up and down on the heads or you will break them . dry completely with compressed air before use. Larry's Electronics [email protected]

Lens Hood Size
The VX2000 lens does have a 58mm diameter thread for filters etc. The 72mm refers to the focal range (Zoom) from 6mm to 72mm. The 58mmm lens hood should fit, but I strongly suggest you obtain a SONY OEM lens hood with lens cap. Goto http://www.pro-cam-electronics.com or other professional camcorder sites for these items.
