I've had several Kodak cameras and believe me the software is horrid and loaded with thei spyware. Write off the pics in internal memory and only use a sd card. SD card readers can be had for $5.00 at FRYS and you will save yourself hours of grief and annoyance.

Kid Tough Digital camera is not being recognized on my computer

The camera should not need software to connect to the computer. It should be "Plug & Play". Try plugging the camera into a different USB port (look on the back of the computer). The software is only needed to customize the pictures. Ensure the camera is turned on after plugging in the USB cable. If no result, open the Control Panel and look at the Scanners and Camera settings.
If you know how to view the devices using Device Manager, open it and look for any yellow highlighted icons. If you have any highlighted icons, then that is where the trouble lies.

Cant download photo too my laptop

Latinlord_17,
Are you sure the camera is on and charged while it is connected to the computer?
If not, you may need to charge the device via a power adapter to ensure a better experience.
If the camera is charged, I will provide two sets of instruction, one for Mac OS X and the other for Windows.
Windows:
  1. Take the USB cable that came with your camera and plug it into the correct ports on both the camera and computer.
  2. Windows should detect the camera and launch "Windows Photo and Fax Viewer" wizard, and ask you what the default action should be when you connect the camera.
  3. Upon clicking NEXT, you should then see your photos loading up on the screen, scroll down to the button that says Import All
  4. When the download is complete, your pictures should be inside the My Pictures folder in Documents
Mac OS X:
  1. Take the USB cable that came with your camera and plug it into the correct ports on both the camera and computer.
  2. OS X should detect the camera, and prompt to launch the iPhoto application
  3. Inside iPhoto, you should then be able to see a camera icon with your camera's name on the left-hand bar. Click on this icon.
  4. Upon seeing your photos, on the right hand portion of the screen, you should see a button that says Import Pictures.
  5. After the download is complete, the pictures are stored inside iPhoto and can be viewed in the Events portion of the application.
Hope this helps.

My problem is i cant down load my picture to the computer any more

IF you have plug-n-play capabilities, you also need a USB cord that goes from the camera to the computer - Many have USB ports on the front, now.

1) Plug the USB cord into the computer.
2) Plug the USB cord into the camera.
3) Turn the camera on (some cameras have a setting they need to be on to transfer pics - make sure you're set on that)
4) The computer should find the appropriate drivers and programs to read the pictures on the camera.
4a) If having them on the computer is enough for you, make sure the "delete when transfer complete" box that will be in most programs.
4b) Make sure the pix will download to the folder you want them two.
4c) if you want to make an album/folder for the set of pix from the camera, do so now (program prompts should show you how. If not, hit "HELP") - I usually just use the date in reverse - Feb 20, 2008 would be "20080208" - keeps 'em sorted in order.
5) Click GO, SUBMIT, TRANSFRER, or whatever your program calls it.
6) Turn off camera when all are downloaded.

The program should probably open the folder into which you downloaded the pictures.

I may have missed a step or two, but it should be fairly easy to figure out. You can leave the USB port cable plugged in, if you have enough ports, then all you need to do is connect your camera and turn it on.

thanks.

When I plug the camera (Panasonic DMC-TZ3) into my mac nothing happens on the computer but the camera says it is syncing. Do I need to instal any software fist or am I missing something? Thanks

If you're just trying to download your pictures, use a card reader. When you plug it into a USB port on your computer, an icon will appear on the screen with a name like "noname" or something similar. Just double-click on it and your pictures open. typrice_64.jpg

I have a problem unloading the pictures from the camera to the camera

Not understanding the question "unloading the pictures from the camera to the camera"?
Are you meaning downloading pictures from the camera to the computer?
If so the best and least complicated way is through an optional inexpensive card reader which plugs into a USB port on the computer. Until you purchase this optional device this is the "flow" to use.
Make sure you have ample battery power in the camera, turn off the camera and connect the special cable which will have a "mini" USB connection the camera end and a normal size USB connection on the other end. Connect to the camera and a USB port on the computer. Turn on the camera. Depending on your computer operating system there should be a notice of device found and a external drive icon appears on your desktop. Create a new folder in "My Documents" and give it a name I usually use the date. then open the icon, double click the icon withing that drive and your pictures will appears as thumbnails click on the first one then go up and "select all" copy and then click on the new folder you just created and past. within a few seconds all your pictures will have been transferred from the memory card to your computer hard drive. Now here is the important part go back to the memory card drive and click on the icon possibly a right click and "eject" the memory card. this shuts off the drive and you can then remove the cables from the computer then the camera. Failure to "eject" the memory card can and will corrupt the card and files within that card. in short it will crash the card and the camera it's installed into.

If you have a USB cable that came with the camera, simply find the port on the camera that the small and of the cable will fit into, and the plug the other end of the cable into the USB port on the computer. Your computer should detect the camera on its own. Go to "My Computer" and click on the drive that matches the drive you pluged the USB cable into. Click on the appropriate files to find your pictures. Once you have found your pictures, press CTRL+A on the keyboard, right click any picture, click on "copy" or "cut" from the menu, then open your "Pictures" folder which should already be on your computer by defualt, right click in the "pictures" window once opened and click "paste" from the menu.
