SOURCE: Toshiba 26AV502U Won't Pick Up Channels

Hi albertogiler, I am happy to help, you will need to attach a antenna to the tv to pick up OTA over the air signals, depending on your location you may be able to use a set of rabbit ears, I have provided a link to a site that will explain in depth. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx
Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution. lone99star

SOURCE: VIzio channels won't change

press the menu button in the middle of your remote and scroll over to the middle tab that's labled "TV" and then scroll down to "auto search". click on this option by pressing the right arrow key on your remote so that your T.V. and "re-scan for channels. It might take awile. I took me about 5 minutes but for majority of the time it was stuck on 45% while it was scanning.

Run channel auto scan

The auto scan feature scans the various channel frequencies looking for a signal. Weak signals may be picked up on one scan and missed on the next. Check your antenna or add a antenna power booster and try again.

32in Vizio getting no channels

You have to go to your menu screen and change the settings from antenna to cable that should take care of it, and should be able to do a auto scan to load channel memory

Initial scan only finds 20 analog channels and nothing else.

What type of antenna do you have and is it pointed at the transmitters? Use antennaweb.org or tvfool.com to check your antenna type and direction for your location. Antennaweb is very conservative in the channel listing even though the site assumes an exterior antenna. Tvfool lists the channels and the respective antennas with a color code that matches the manufacturer's labels for the antennas. Tall trees and buildings can block the signal.

Digital signals are either on or off for the tuner (either there is enough signal to process or no signal). Are you sharing the antenna signal between devices? An amplifier may help.

If you are using an antenna that is pointed correctly and should receive the stations around you, then the problem may be the ATSC tuner. This is on the same board as the NTSC (analog) tuner for most TVs these days.

I hope this helps.

Some of my channels were lost after I TRIED RESCANNING I I LOST

Check your antenna direction (antennaweb.org or tvfool.com are good sources for signal direction). When I lose channels, it's a digital signal that came in with "bad signal" strength and my external antenna has rotated in the wind. (Oddly another TV in the house doesn't seem to lose the signal as easily even though they share an antenna.)

Also check the weather conditions and time of day. I've gained distant channels when scanning near sunrise or sunset and lost others during thunderstorms.

I hope this helps.

Fully check your antenna system... check your plug connection check you have plugged it in the right socket & there is a signal, try the antenna on another unit.

The digital programming here and I can't get any channels clearly

Well, there is nothing wrong with the TV itself. The signal is too weak to get enough digital information to complete picture and sound.
You may need a better antenna for reception.

There are some long range digital antennas and antennas that will receive signals in all directions.
It's the best way I know of to solve the problem.

Sudden no signal on digital channels on a Vizio VX37L

That may not be correct. You would not lose all your digital channels. Vizio has an un-addressed problem with losing digital stations. Multiple threads are posted due to this problem, which is why I am on this site. I have lost all digital stations on CATV connection. The Toshiba set in the next room is getting over 150 DTV channels, the Vizio, only analog. Zero Digital.

I have misplaced the users manual.

1) Connect the Signal Source - ANTENNA or CABLE.
2) Go into the menu for channel source and select the input you are using.
3) Go into the menu and SCAN/auto program all the channels.
You can now select your station.

Insignia digital tv converter/indoor antenna no signal

Ok first I can save you some money. Take your "HDTV" antenna back. There is nothing different about the antennas needed receive analog and digital signals. If you got reception without your converter box, use the same antenna with your converter box.

Next let's see if there is a problem with the box. Hook up a television with the antenna. How many stations do you get? Now hook up the same television & antenna, but this time put the converter box between the antenna & the TV. Do not turn on the box. Now how many stations do you get? If the number is different, the box is not allowing the antenna signal to pass through. That is bad. You want your signal to pass through the box so you can still pick up stations that don't broadcast digitally. Some areas of the country will not be covered by digital stations from all major broadcasters when the changeover happens in Feb.

My suspicion is either you did not have the antenna hooked up to the converter box when you searched for channels OR you are in an area that is not yet broadcasting digitally.

I hope this helps you solve your problem. Thank you for using FixYa and feel free to add more questions here by using comments.
