According to some information I found in some other forums, the best responses and fix methods all contained these steps

The 49.xxxx errors are "communication errors" and can be caused by many things:Corrupted driver, corrupted firmware, corrupted print job, bad nic card (your printer has a built in network port), bad memory DIMM, bad formatter board etc etc.
Unplug the network cable, power off and then back on..........print a configuration page...........check that the printer sees the network port (if you see the IP address on the EIO page it sees it)...........if it doesn't see it you may have a bad formatter board (the network port is built in it).
If the printer works just fine while unplugged from the network, start replacing the network cable, otherwise you need to look into your network (end quotes). Best of luck in resolving, please update this message if it did solve it.

When i try and print a document from my work computer to my Mx350 a message comes up and says that "printer is not responding"


Try unplugging power from the printer and restarting. If this does not work, check the USB cable or the wifi connection to the printer. If this does not work, delete the printer from your computer and add it back. If the computer does not see it, then you know you have a connection probem either USB or wireless

First things frist. If the printer is conected with a USB Cable to your computer, try removing and reinserting the usb cable. To make sure that it is properly connected.
You might just have unintentionally got the printer in offline mode. Now follow this steps:
To check if it is offline. 1. Go to devices and printers (7), Printers and Faxes(XP), Printers (Vista) 2. Double click on the printer icon 3. Click the option that says Printer on the upper left corner of the window that pops up.
Th only options that you need checked is the one that says Set as Default Printer. For any other options that has a check mark. Click on them to remove the check mark.
4. Click Start again, on the search box type in services.msc, hit Enter. For XP, CLick Run, and type the same thing and then hit ok. 5. A window should pop up with the list of services for your computer. Look for Print Spooler in that list. 6. Right Click on the Print Spooler and Click Stop. 7. Right Click on the Print Spooler and Click Start.
Restart your computer. Try printing again.

Even new cartridges can prove to be faulty; even more so ones that have be refilled. If you have exhausted the options in the print software (i.e. Test Print, Print Alignment, Head Cleaning, etc.) and the reseating of the cartridge a few times, then depending on your will for either try:
1. Go to the store and replace the cartridge telling them you think its faulty.
2. Firstly, Unplug the Printers connecting cable (USB, DB25, etc.).Then uninstall both the Printing software and Printer drivers (usually the same package) under "Add Remove Programs" (Windows OS). Restart the computer, then reinstall the Printer software (following the prompts on exactly when to reconnect the printer to the computer, *Important*), and then restart again.

try a known good USB cable, or at least try using a different USB port on your PC. Also, see to it that your USB cable is not weaved through power cables as they may create interference.
On a different note, does your printer show any signs of life when you plug the power cord in: LCD blinks and stays on with a "Ready" message, does the printer align heads, rolls in paper etc? If none of these things is happening when you plug in the power cord then you may be dealing with a bad power supply or a bad printer altogether.

1 unplug the power n usb cord
2 keep the headprint inside the craddle
3 try to move the headprint into full right-corner(headprint
cleaningside)by moving-left the craddle belt until u heard
some "snapp" sound
4 plug the powercord again5 if u heard "cleaning progress" then u r printer going to respond
5 try to print 'printer test page' or 'nozzle check'
6 if it succeed, try to print some 5-10 pages continously

check your printer cables if its properly connected and also make sure that your printer is on
