Question about Asko W6221 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Hi, I have an ASKO W6231 QUATTRO washer. However, the instruction book that came with it refers to a W6762, but we are in Australia, so who knows! It has a drop down outer door which I need to remove. Is that possible? It is purely for aesthetics and has nothing to do with the operation of the machine. Many thanks, Katherine

it is most likely your machine may have a draining problem. if it cant drain the water out the door wont open. if you open the small door at the front bottom of the machine you will find the little black drain hose. unplug the hose off the door and drain machine. when the machine is empty try powering on and opening the door. if still no luck you will see (in the same location) a red pull ring. undo the screw holding the ring in position and gently pull until the door releases. it would be worth undoing the button trap lid to access the pump and check for any blockages (most common coins **** pins etc) let me know how you get on.

Unplug the machine. Remove the filter, take a flashlight and get your head down to check if something has fallen deeper in filter and pump housing which block the pump turbine. Also, make sure to check if the outlet hose isn't clogged or jammed with something too.

Check that the cold water is turned on. The washing machine uses cold water to rinse, and if the cold water is not on, unit will end without completing cycle.

I have an asko quattro front loader washing machine it wont spin out properly leaving my clothes wringing wet can you help?

Hi, Welcome to FixYa. Have you checked the pump to insure the filter isn't clogged, or do you know where it is and how to check it ? If its clogged it won't allow the clothes to spin out enough due to water extraction being prevented. The insert/filter is located on most Asko washer below the main basket door behind a toe panel or square access door. Once found, turn it counter-clockwise to remove it and clean inside thoroughly. Let me know how you do or if you don't understand or even needing more assistance. Thanks for choosing Fixya and good luck. Regards, Macmarkus :)

I would like to know what the buttons on the front of the machine are and also is it normal for these machines not to fill up all the way?

All wash machines have different button configurations , contact Asko or their agent in U.K. -- Maytag for an instruction book . Most modern machines are eco friendly and use only minimum amount of water , often filling just to the bottom of the door , but will vary according to drum size.
