If the breaker is tripping its becasue the compressor has an internal ground. Being second hand its probably not worth the money to put into it to repair it.

The fridge isn't cooling though the freezer half is working fine. It was recently transported quite a distance in its side (well braced and padded), and left to stand 20 hours before being plugged in. We...

There are 2 reasons. While transporting if they lifted with won wards to discharge side, chances are there to oil entering. And while switch on it starts pumping the oil.Secondly, chance for gas leak.
It's advisable to remove gas and check for leak. If no leak, flush out the system and replace drier.
Vacuum and do gas charging. Please write if it's helpful.

After relocating refrigerator, no cooling, middle panel very hot

Hwne you had moved the fridge it is quite possible that there could have been a damge to the compressor or the piping resulting in the gas leaking off. This must be confirmed , if so refill gas properly with the help of a technician. Next solution also could be if the fridge had been been transported upside down or side ways. If so the oil inthe compressor would have gone into the system and choked it. For a trial put off the fridge for about 24 hours so that all the oil drains back to base. then test it to check if the cooling comes back. Since I presume prior to your moving the fridge was working fine, the areas of fault could be these two factors. I hope you can check this up and decide . If not ask for a quote on the fault and we can review. I Hope I could help. Good day

My freezer side isn't freezing. fridge side seems to be working

If it worked fine to them, look at the heating and cooling C. in the back of the frig. Depending on how you transported it and how many bumbs you hit could of damanged them

What causes my fridge to run hot? It thinks its an oven! It was working fine prior to transportation, after which it was left for three hour prior to switching on when it ran hot.

I believe it may have been laid down during transport. Leave it unplugged for another 24 hours and allow the compressor oil to return back down to the compressor. This is a very common problem if laid down on side during transport. After this time replug the power cord and listen and feel to insure warm air blows from bottom of refrigerator and cold air in freezer. The oil is to thick and heavy to be pushed through the capillary tube. Just be patient and not try to push the time getting it to cool again as the compressor will continue to overheat if oil remains in the cap tube. Thanks Sea Breeze

Plz help refrigerator not working properly after transporting it

time to get a new defrost timer or heater element the ice is causing most of the issues. if the freezer is staying cold then there is a fan that blows the cold air into the fridge side that could be out.

Fridge freezer light on nothing else after transporting.

IS THIS A AUTOMATIC DEFROST UNIT? IF SO THEN THE DEFROST CLOCK PROBABLY IS BAD, LOOK UNDERNEITH BY THE COMPRESSOR AND THERE SHOULD BE A SQUARE ISH BAX THAT HAS 4 WIRES COMING OUT OF IT. TAKE AND TURN THE RED KNOB WITH A SCREW DRIVWER UNTIL THE COMPRESSOR COMES ON. IF THAT WAS NOIT IT TAKE A HAIR DRIER AND HEAT UP THE LIDUID LINE DRIER SOME TO TRY TO CLEAR THE RESTRICTION ON THE DRIER. GOOD LUCK (SORRY ABOUT ALL CAPS BUT GOT TIRED OF CORECTING THE SPELLING) NOT SHOUTING

Kenmore 14CF upright freezer will die after a day or so

The defrost timer is faulty or you have a defrost circuit short, unplug remove back panel inside the freezer and check for a short in the heater and defrost thermostat.

Food is defrosting in my hotpoint frost free fridge/freezer

Can you hear the compressor running? Is the fan inside the freezer running? It could be that a wire connection has come loose during the move. Was the fridge laid on it's side during the move? If so you probably have compressor oil restricting the refrigerant system. If compressor and fan are running you will probably need a qualified refrigeration tech to check it out.
