This would be a very expensive option, i.e. repair. I would definitely suggest an add on flash as the best option.

Flash replace

I assume that you were using an external removable flash because the original flash is built in and cannot "slide" off.
Any recent canon flash should work. Alternatively, you could buy a flash from Yongnuo, Sunpak, Metz or any other flash manufacturer as long as you say that it must be compatible with your camera.
hope this helps.

Check to see if flash has been disabled in Internet Explorer.
  1. Tools
  2. Internet Options
  3. Program Tab
  4. Manage add-on options button
  5. Filters
  6. Add-ons that run without requiring permission
  7. Select Shockwave Object
  8. Click Enable button at bottom

Alternatively, you can try using Chrome or Firefox and see if it works in those browsers.

In side flash not working

Unless your camera remains under warranty, repairing the flash is usually not cost-effective. Repair is not a DIY option and it must be done professionally. If you visit the Olympus website in your country and go to the service page you will often find that there is a fixed price repair menu on offer.

You may find it's cheaper to fit an external flash to the external hotshoe especially if you can buy a good used flash, but you must ensure that you either use an Olympus or Panasonic model; you may use other independent makes such as SunPak or Metz (expensive, but really worth it) but must ensure that they're suitable for digital cameras. Older flashguns designed for 35mm film cameras can pass too much voltage through your digital camera and damage it. You may also need to activate the external flash hotshoe via the menu as on most cameras it's inactive until selected. Note that an Olympus/Panasonic badged unit will give you full automatic operation, but if you use independent models then you will have to set everything yourself for "non-dedicated" models, and on more expensive "dedicated" models you may have fully automatic operation or may have to enter some settings manually. "Dedicated" flashes are those which have electronics and features tailored to particular camera brands.

Although an external flash is bulkier, the trade-off is that even lowly specified models will far exceed the output of your built-in flash. This enables you to use flash at greater distances and also provides more even illumination of the subject.

Floor fan has stopped working

As the manual push buttons don't work, it is possible the remote and receiver are working ok and the fault is elsewhere on the pcb and is perhaps something your local tv and radio repair shop could tackle.

The motor speed control is probably achieved by electronic rather than electrical methods and it would be more practical to repair the existing system than to attempt modification - finding a suitable 4-position switch capable of reliable operation with an inductive load of nearly 3 amps (plus safety margin) presents one problem, matching it to a method of speed control and installing it neatly and safely is quite another.

Practically speaking and considering the low cost of imported fans, such a conversion is not worth carrying out. There is a worthwhile alternative however...
In the old days there was a ready market for an easy method of controlling the speed of small electric motors and the introduction of the diac and triac and the thyristor made it possible and soon the papers and magazines filled with adverts such as "Control Drill Speeds". That was just the beginning as the success of such devices spawned a host of power controllers and dimmer switches in steps or continuously with just a single control.

You could construct such a device from one of the many available project circuits or buy a power controller ready built. A good one is not cheap but should last a long, long time.
A standard dimmer switch might handle the job but dimmer switches aren't usually suitable for an inductive load.

I hope I have provided food for thought and further research. Good luck!

5C00 error on Canon iP90 printer

The alternate flashing of orange and green indicates a service call error, something that needs to be taken into a canon authorized service facility for repair. 4 alternate blinking of these lights indicates a problem with the purge unit, most likely requiring replacement.

QUANTARAY QBX-8000xi Flash for SONY ALPHA - 350 digital SLR

Unfortunately not.

This flash is a superb budget alternative to the Minolta alternatives but is only suitable for their film cameras. Sony's SLR's are based on the later Minolta Digital SLR's and they're all incompatible with this flash.

The technical differences between the film and digital Minolta cameras explains why a Minolta 5600HS (for example) had to be redesigned and redesignated as a 5600HS(D). The former will not work on Sony Alpha models, but the latter is fully compatible.

There is no driver available from Canon for Windows XP (see here).

There is no driver available for your printer on Windows XP, the only drivers on google are either viruses or spyware software, do not install any of them.
