I have the same problem, one suggestion was to contact CIS, does anyone have contact details foe CIS?

We have the same problem. Everything works fine except the LCD display panel. The cooker is like brand new. I asked my 'electronics' son-in-law who said he has seen dozens of these thrown out at the UNI (UK) where he is technician, because of same problem. Part too expensive to replace.

    This is a disgrace!

I Phoned trading standards officer who tells me that as well as the 1 yr. guarantee reg. the goods have to be to work for 6 years under normal circs. And if there is an 'INHERENT FAULT' the manufacturers are obliged to put it right. This appears to be just that! So I shall write and make a fuss at Sharp.

Model r1200 sharp microwave display does not lite, have replaced twice and other people who have purchased have the same problem. Does the new version 2 color display replace my display

Sharp microwave is a very good unit. If you have done same repair twice before, i suggest replace board complete with display next time as there could very possibly be a set of defective components on the old board that is causing this display problem. Have done this repair before and noted how thin the tracks are also. Honestly go for new board if you can.

Hi our Sahrp Carousel microwave LCD panle display is not working

You have to replace the control board. Sharp has had problems with the display boards for awhile. There is no bulb or fuse you can change.

Sharp R-953M combination oven. Display not working.

We repair those for $39.95 mostly for US and Canadian customers, but in the UK you can contact Quality Electronic Repairs. I think they repair these.

Otherwise, you would have to replace the control unit, which consists of both circuit boards and the display.

Sharp microwave

That's a UK model.

The solution is to have your control unit repaired. In most cases, a shop will just replace the whole control unit, but they are likely to fail again without our proprietary modifications.

We repair those mostly for US and Canadian customers, but in the UK you can contact Quality Electronic Repairs. I think they repair these.

We occasionally have customers from the UK and Australia send theirs in for repair (not just board replacement) but the extra shipping charges may be a bit much for most customers.

Quite often, a customer will send their old defective board, unit then swap it when we send it back.

Replacing lightbulb in Sharp R953M combi microwave oven

most microwave ovens built in the last 20 years do not have an
access panel to the light bulb. you must remove the screws on the back of the microwave that hold the outer sleeve in place.
Then pull upward and backward on the sleeve to disengage it
from the front lip of the chassis. the light bulb should be close to the front of the microwave behind the control panel. Some lights
are not unscrewable from the socket, but the socket and bulb
come as an assembly.
