Hi hoping you may be able to help me wwwith a problem we are having with our oven
That is “oven turning itself off”. Both fans stop working, however the clock still works and the function light remains on. This is an intermittent problem whereby it could occur 3 days in a row and then operate trouble free for 3 weeks – frustrating!!! Sometimes the oven just won’t turn on at all. AEG have replaced the PC board, door locking mechanism and sensors (safety/cutoff/overheating sensors?). Problem still remains.
We would appreciate any help you could give us on this issue so we can discuss this further with the local service people. They said they put it on test for 7-10 days and could not fault it after they had changed all three sensors

If fan has stopped altogether, then you definately need a new one, to be sure you need to disconnect and remove the fan and bench test it.
Hook up a 240v supply to the fan and see if it runs, if not then it is no good..
It does not matter which terminals you connect live and neutral too as it is common to both terminals. do not connect feed to earth by mistake.

Sounds like oven element is faulty, disconnect it and try again, if it does not trip, then it is definately the element..
It is easy to replace.

If the fan is working o/k, then you need to replace the oven element.
This is located at the rear of the oven compartment, behind a removeable cover.
This should solve the prob.

If you are certain that the element is o/k, and it is not heating, then thwere are 2 possibilitues.
1- the oven thermostat could be faulty, whereby it is giving a feed to the element.
2-some ovens have a fan only setting, as well as heat and fan, make sure that it is not on a fan only setting.
