Windows Xp does have that feature, in fact we use to have the elo touch screens that were running on windows xp, I believe it is a driver issue, beause the touch screens is a hardware that requires the driver to be loaded in order for it to work correctly. By doing this in the xp hardware detection, see if windows xp can detect the touchscreen hardware and load the correct driver, or if not go to hp site and DL the driver there.

I have hp tx1000 notebook Earlier I had Win 7 installed on it. Everything including fingerprint scanner worked well. But now I'm using XP sp2 I have tried many drivers but the fingerprint scanner...

Most of your hardware on that computer will be have been made after Windows XP was released. Therefore the manufacture may not have any drivers for XP. I know HP will not list any. Best bet Put Windows 7 back on the computer. Go to hardware manager and write down every piece of hardware (brand/model). The try to go back to XP and go the individual hardware brands websites and look for XP drives. The problem at this point is you are most likely seeing a big yellow ? listed in device manager in XP, so you have no clue as to who made the individual piece of hardware. Also I am not sure that XP will support the touch screen.

Pavilion TX1000 - WiFi card suddenly not detected

The solution is, get a USB wifi adapter, because that card is done. HP REFUSES to recognize this problem, and since the majority of failures happen after the warranty expires (mine did) HP just says you are SOL. You can get decent wireless adapters for $20, and your wireless problems will be solved. Unfortunately, expect your laptops motherboard/chipset/dc port to fail within a year :(

Calibration of touch Screen is off - Can't re-calibrate.

I had the same problem, also on a HP Pavilion tx1000.
I solved it by using the driveres from eeti.
Now the pen works great and I'm a happy camper. :)

what is the error message that you're getting.. usually windows vista will not downgrade your operating system to windows xp. You may need to remove vista before you can load xp.
make sure to save a back up of all of your important files before you do that.

Bluetooth in HPTx1000

I believe there's a switch on the HP pavilion TX1000 to enable its Wireless LAN and Bluetooth.

To the right of the audio inputs and outputs is a slider switch and an LED. This one controls the wireless devices, both the Wireless LAN and Bluetooth and is blue while the wireless devices are enabled and red when they are not.

If you are using Windows Vista on your computer, you may go click on this link for instructions on how to use bluetooth with Vista.

Help with my hp tx1000 please

Mine has already twice made the same thing. Solution was simple - got the touchscreen changed (luckily under warranty). As third problem required change of the motherboard, I'm planning to get rid of the piece of junk alltogether. I think it is a solution for all the troubles with tx1000.
