Hi ~ Thanks so much ! Now...on the battery, it says that it is "rechargeable", so ... how do I do that ~ or where would I purchase a replacement?

  • ashwill277 Nov 08, 2010

Thanks, again ~ I have tried to recharge the battery through the computer and using the wall outlet. The lens still comes out and goes back in right away, which was my first question. What would you suggest?

I rate your responses A so far!!! You are awesome!!!

Thanks! Your solution is very helpful....Now, I will have to find a service center. I live in a rural area. Then, once I find one, I will need to consider the cost involved ~ and decide if a new camera is in order or whether it will be worth it to have this one repaired. I definitely think the problem is hardware at this point.

    Have a great evening....Cyndie Ashwill

    Many thanks for the feedback.

Yes, the battery is rechargeable. You can charge the battery by using the charger and the USB cable supplied along with the camera. (see attached image for details)

You can also charge the battery by connecting the USB cable to a USB port on your computer. First, turn OFF the camera and connect it to the USB port of the PC.

The charging light blinks during charging and stays steady when the battery is fully charged.

    Hope this helps.

Kindly rate and accept the solution if you find it helpful.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks for the reply.

I would suggest that you try to charge the battery for a couple of hours and then try to shoot pictures with the camera.

If you have already tried this, it might be due to a hardware problem for which you will have to get your camera serviced at an authorized service center.

Wish you good luck. Thanks again.

Want to download photos from camera to computer and am unable to do so. I have the cable conected to the computer and to the camera. and I have the Kodak Easy Share software.

Try NOT connecting the camera to the computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

I have a kodak easy share camera M340 and I can't take any photos since it says Internal memory is full. Help

Buy yourself an SD memory card and transfer your pics to the card. That will clear your internal memory. You can save all your pics that you take from now on in the SD card.

My Kodak Easy Share M340 won't turn on!

If the camera has recently been dropped you may have lens damage that's preventing it from powering up. If it hasn't been dropped your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera - which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then clean both ends of the batteries, place them back in the camera and give them a full charge. This cleaning clears the problem about 80% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, it may be time to replace the batteries, or the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

My Kodak Easy Share M340 is having a problem. When I turn in on the lens opens and hen closes right away.

Make sure that you are installing a fresh/ full charge battery
Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.
4. Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. If not you will need to order a No power repair.

Problem with M340 Kodak easy share digital camera..( automaticall

I had the same problem after a day at the beach. What I did was get a can of compressed air (from the computer section) and blow air around the lens as I repeatedly turned it on. It took about five cycles, but I eventually cleared whatever was preventing the lens from fully opening.

Good luck.
