Accidentally deleted photos from my 2gb memory stick pro duo memory card

You can not recover lost or deleted data from that type of a data storage device, when it is deleted it is statically erased right then and there, and it is not moved onto another part of a hard disk waiting to be written over or recovered, and any data that was deleted from that memory card is now gone for good and it can not be recovered from that memory card. If you have those lost or deleted files in another data storage device or stored in your computer's hard drive then you can re-load them into your memory card.

It's no problem at all to get them back. Do not take any more pictures or videos, and remove the card from the camera to lessen the chance of you overwriting some important pictures or videos. There are very many GOOD freeware software options available to help you recover your files. Please see this blog article that reviews several of the better freeware recovery programs that you can download. You may need to use a card reader with these programs though.

All the download links listed in the article are available through CNET. This was to primarily ensure through CNET's verification process that these would be malware free software, and to also give you a chance to read user reviews on the software before downloading.

LLFTOOL is a utility for low-level disk drive formatting,
also supports formatting of FLASH cards using a card-reader.

1. Download this tool:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4040651/LLFTOOL.EXE

2. Format Memory Stick Duo

(WARNING: After running this low level format tool,
the whole USB flash disk surface will be fully erased.
Therefore, data restoration will be impossible after using this utility!)

My camera tells me it's full when it shouldn't be. I have a 2gb sony memory stick pro duo for my Sony Alpha 100 camera. Today, I shot about 80 photos and it said it was full, but I had just deleted all...

hi, sometimes old photos tend to stay inside due to some defect or settings. instead of deleting photos. format the card once before you start clicking the photos. formatting can be done in PC or in your camera. if this does not solve the problem. please revert back to us. thank you. sweet rascal

Importing data from stick to computer - deleting data on stick

Yeah, all you have to do is delete all the pictures on the card. It's easiest to do on your computer, not the camera. Just put the memory stick back into your computer and find all the pictures and select and delete them. If you've already transfered them to your computer then don't worry about it. If you delete the photos off the stick, they will NOT be deleted from your computer so just go ahead and do it.
