On several Sony models, this is a common issue. Try replacing the HOT and check the surrounding PCB for cold solder joints.

How do you change a low beam headlight bulb on a 2008 Buick Allure?

I actually did change my low beam bulb with ease. I took pictures to help with step by step procedures.

Step 1.

Step 2.
Step 3.

Remove the red dotted plastic plugs out. So you have wiggle room.
Once removed all the red dots, where the green dots are you can gently lift it past it, and pull it towards the front away from the engine.

Step 4.
Find the white latch and pull it up to the little square:

This you will see if you have pulled to far up, it has to match up with the little white square.

Step 5.
Black Latch, pull it up just the same way for the white latch, but you will need to unscrew the lock screw.

Step 6.

The light bulb port has to be turned clockwise to unscrew, opposite to lock back it in again.
Step 7.

Once done it should like this, and you will need to a flat screw driver to pop the little clips on the side of the holder and replace bulb.

Step 8, put everything back together and you are done.

I amj thinking of buying a second hand lg plasma tv, but there is little white sparkly dots on the picture, mainly on the blackest bit of the picture. Is it worth buying it or not? thanx gill.

I realize that this is a old post, but for the sake of anyone else with this issue; I'm visiting my mother and found that she has the same issue. After some investigation, I've been told that this is an issue with something called the "Control PC".

The service tech told me that if it was colored dots, the issue is the "Y Sustain", but white dots are due to the Control PC.

Rough estimate for repair would be in the range of $300 - $400, for a repairman to come out and fix it.

the DLP chip is failing, it controls the tiny mirrors that open and close to produce the picture. Some of the mirrors are getting stuck in the open position. The chip needs to be replaced. Replacing the chip is the easy part afterwards the picture has to be re-aligned which is difficult. So much so that they might recommend replacing the entire light engine where the chip resides driving up thecost of repair.

Scanning B+W shows dots

Don't use Descreen. That is for scanning things such as Magazines that, when looked at very close, appears to have a lot of little dots that can cause a moire pattern when scanned.

The TV is only showing half of the picture

Hi Bigtate,

There is not much for me to go on with your description but here goes,

I suppose you have a convential TV set with a glass picture tube and not one of the new types with the large screen slim style displays!!!

If it a glass type picture tube then the following assumptions are made.

I hope yopu have not shifted house recently and moved the TV around???
If you have its possible the Yoke (its a device on the neck of the Picture tube that controls magnetically the scanning dot) may have moved and only is letting you see half a picture...
This is a long shot but it could be the cause..

Now the picture is supplied to you by a fast moving dot of light (Black & White set) that scans from the top of the picture and moves very fast down to the bottom of the screen, then flys back to the top of the screen and starts all over again during this process the dot lights up the picture tube to provide you with
the picture you see... (On a colour set there are three dots)

Its quite a complex process and its all controlled by electronics inside the TV receiver.

If you are getting only half a picture then something is causing the dot to only turn on for the lower half of the picture during its write time to the glass screen,

You dont say if the half thats off is white or black, so there are many things that the service technician needs to know before even starting to look for this fault. During the dot doing its write cycle down the sceen, when it reachs the bottom and flys back to the top of the screen it receives a synchronous pulse from the TV station, and this TV signal is critical in making sure you see the same picture as is being sent from the TV station.
Sometimes this sync pulse from the TV station is very weak and so your picture may float up and down the screen trying to lock to the incoming signal.. this just may be your fault.. but you dont say if the half of the picture that you see is floating or not..
Your situation may be that your TV has partially locked to the station signal and your aerial may be problematic,
but then you dont say if its on just the one channel or all of your station channels. So there needs to be more analysis of your situation prior to a positive answer being provided....

Sorry I can be of more help...

Picture problems

What are normal things like text files and the desk top like? If it only photos that are problematical then it won't be the screen. Have a check around the system and a little think through- them come back
