No. I don't think the power supply is strong enough to handle a 4TB HDD - let alone 2

Check the manual for maximum supported drives.

First, CHKDSK usually does not do a "full" test of your disk-drive.
It does read the "Table-Of-Contents", and it does "itemize" each file on the disk-drive, looking for files in the T.O.C. but *NOT* on the disk, and looking for files *NOT* listed in the T.O.C., and looking to ensure that each "block" on the disk is allocated to "free" space or is allocated to EXACTLY one file.

It's possible that one of the two disks is "dying", and it's the 'RAID' structure that is providing some data from the "other" disk in the set.

Confuguring raid5

Hi

You would need 4 Hard disk drives in total. you would need to create 2 RAID 0 (striping) and then Mirror them (RAID 1). to elaborate, HDD A&B will be at RAID 0 as well as HDD C&D. after, you would have to Mirror your two RAID 0. (raid 0+1 is also known as raid 5)

Hope this helps.

Motherboard upgrade - Sony Vaio VGC-RB62G - RAID 0 issue

Why don't you try to get your main drive running before getting into Raid Configurations. Set your single drive to Master and run setup telling it you have one drive. Once you are satisfied that it is not some other fluky error, put in the other drive and I believe if SATA you don't even have to worry about Master Slave. Go about your boot and go into setup again. Hopefully all is good with the world and all that has to be done is fix up BIOS. No matter what, there is never an " out of the box " clean system. Make sure you plug your cables in correctly. I assume you're running EIDE. You'll get it.

Setup raid configuration

Just keep pressing F2 on startup to go to bios. In bios go to advanced screen and highlight "show raid" option. Hit enter and highlight show raid. Then save changes and exit. Press Ctrl + I when booting and you will open raid configuration utility. Make sure you backup all your files and create RDVDs before making any changes to raid. After pressing ctrl+i you will get raid configration utility. From there "delete raid" -> create new raid volume and select raid type as raid 0. Then boot from RDVDs and install operating system.Let me know if there is any trouble with that
