Yes, everything else works fine. The problem started when we were just trying to add a play station II to the TV and we kept changing the wires around but never could make it work because the 1/2 TV screen came up.

  • jac2748 Nov 08, 2010

I have no idea how to do that. My TV is not connected to my computor in anyway.

  • jac2748 Nov 08, 2010

Could a bootleg DVD cause this problem?

  • jac2748 Nov 08, 2010

We turned the TV off and then back on without using the DVD player at all and it still has the split screen. This problem did not happen until we tried to use the playstation and switching around the wires behind the TV. Don't have a camera to download a picture

Never mind, the situation is fixed. We turned the system off and unplugged it from the wall and it reset itself.

Looks like you have multiple problems here. The redlines and the reversed picture are caused by two separate boards. The first problem is caused usually due to a faulty tuner board or by a faulty addressing block(located on the logic control board). SO my first question to you is.. Are all the other functions of the tv operational?

Ok. Can you please upload an image to imageshack.us so that I can have a look and get a better idea of what you were talking about?

Take a picture of the screen with a camera and upload. You cannot do this on the tv itself. No it does not sound like a problem caused by a DVD. Those are just the fake DVDs and they cannot damage the set in anyway, unless the problem appears only when you are using that DVD. Did you try other input sources to see if the problem persists?

The reason I have asked for the image is because, this problem can be related to the H-position setting(picture may have been moved to the right to a certain extent causing it to display the cut off half on the left hand side. I just had to see what the line that splits the screen looks like to confirm. You can take your time, get a cam from a friend and upload the image. I just want to try my level best to resolve the issue, just using the settings.

I cant get it to work on full screen

I am having this same problem as this one above (62HM95). The issue I'm having is that it will also not work full screen. I selected the 'Split' option on the remote and the picture on the left is fine... absolutely clean and perfect, with audio. The picture on the right is completely distorted in very strange colors (mostly constant variations of purple), with audio as well. You should note, that the same video information was feed into different imputes to select for the split. In other words, I feed the cable stream into the TV using the component video (Y B R) as well as the coaxial cable and selected both options for the purposes of displaying the same information side-by-side. On screen I selected video option four (4 for color stream HD) and option (0 for cable/antenna). If I highlight either side and select one of them (4 or 0) the screen goes full screen and I see nothing but one solid color of purple. I've researched the purple and they call it 'Electric Purple'. That is all I see... just the solid purple, with the audio. What I have also noticed is that, If toggle between imputes while in the full screen option and come back to either option (4 or 0) the image plays/appears OK for about 2 seconds then goes back to solid purple. I just can't understand why this is happening especially when the on-screen menu displays perfectly fine. I cannot enjoy this TV by only watching half of it in split mode. Besides the multiple replacement bulbs I've had to buy I've completely had it with this TV

I have 1 37" Sanyo LCD TV. The screen is split

bad screen driver boards, it can sometimes be corrected by tapping it on the side that is affected NOT ON THE SCREEN I MEAN ON THE TOP. The only way to cure the problem is replacing the panel.

Only half of my screen shows a picture, the other half is black. It is not a split screen, half of the picture is missing

You have a problem with the vertical IC. Or someone typed into the software and hit a service blank option..Cances are better that you have to resolder the vertical IC. This is a projection TV...correct?

Halfof the picture is green

Time for a new HDTV. I don't think that would be a setup configuration setting. It's broken. Chances are, like my Sony Bravia which had the lower right hand corner of the front of the LCD panel fall and hit a sharp object, it cannot be easily fixed. The LCD panels or electronics typically cost more than buying a new one.

You could check for a Factory Authorized Service for Samsung, online, and find a local shop. Here it's Lakes Electronics near Fort Lauderdale - I know because I used to work for them. I also looked up Sony and found a few more. They wanted over $900 for the LCD Panel for a 32" Bravia TV. The TV only cost like $700.00 new.

First of all...i have a 60" standard definition mitsubishi tv...i know its old but for some reason all the video only shows up on the left side...is there anything i can do to fix it?

Hello. Thanks for selecting fixya! Many models of this TV offer you PIP (Picture inside Picture) and POP (Picture outside Picture) for your convenience. You can also split the TV in half with one channel on one side and another channel on the other side. It is possible that you might find a fix to your problem by experimenting with your PIP and or POP buttons on the remote. Good luck with it.

Half of screen is green, split down the middle with the other side remaining normal. We have a Wii. HELP! Bought it at Circuit City, and they are gone...........

I never repair Vizio but I am sure this is the cause if this occurs on all video sources; WiI, TV tuner, etc.

LCD panel has 2 flat cables attached to the glass OR the board that attaches to the glass.

remove and reinsert this cable. Just know that if you open the TV you will probably see these cable easily....they will be at the upper middle portion of the back of the TV(inside of course)

There is 1 cable for the left side of the picture and another cable for the right. If the right becomes loose it affect right side of pictur and left cable left side.

VIZIO P42 plasma, half screen ok, other half showing blank

First you have to check if voltage and data are ok at the Y sustain board and the Y driver boards are not running hot. Even if you know how to replace these panels you must have a scope to adjust the v-set up and v- down. Not just a simple PNP. Trouble shooting a plasma is not a short time process to do it correctly. Please let a service center look at it for you.
