Microwave door glass replacement

Inner glass door has shattered on my Neff combi microwave oven (H7860SOGB/02; FD7507). How is it held in place? Appears to be an inner frame holding it in but no obvious screws or fixings. Is it pressure fitted and can I remove it and then refit?

The inner glass is not making a connection to the oven frame, there was no gasket and the part that is supposed to hold it doesn't support the glass upright

As the other experts have noted, the whole front door needs to be replaced.

You will have to replace the whole door. I do not recommend replacing just the glass part, as that could prove hazardous if not done correctly. Contact the manufacturer, or the point of purchase, and they will be able to assist you in finding a replacement door.

You will not be able to remove the holding frame yourself. You will need special equipment to do that. Besides, you will not be able to find the specific glass to replace. The easiest option would be to replace the whole door :)

    Hi,
The doors are assembled flat in layers, the last containing clips which click in inside the door assembly. To remove all of these would be a knightmare - probably breaking some, meaning the door is unsafe.

A complete sub-assembly of a new door should be fitted by temoving from the hinge pins.

Some things are pressed together never intended to come apart. This is one of them.

    Hope this helps you.

How do we replace the shattered inner glass of the oven?

Anne,
Most oven will have a series of screws that hold the door halves together and you would need remove those so that you can gain access to the glass panel. Some doors only have two screws that also hold the door handle on and you would have to remove just those to gain the access you need. Hope this helps!

Neff B6774.0GB replace inner glass panel

open the door, loosen the two large screws (t20x or large flat head) near the top of the inner door, this will loosen the main outer door and you can slide it up and off. Look to the hinges and you will see retaining brackets held with two t20x screws, remove these and you then slide the rest of the door off enabling you to work on it on a flat surface. Lie it down with the broken glass as the lowest part. Remove two t20x screws from the two plastic holders near the top of middle frame, slide them out and remove the middle angled frame. Pay attention to which groove in the bottom of the door they are positioned for reassembly. You are now faced with a frame with absolutely mountains of t20x screws which will all have to be removed. when this is done, lift off the frame and you are left with the inner frame, broken glass and mesh panel. carefully take off the mesh screen and discard the broken glass ensuring that you do not inadvertently throw away the black thin seal (looks like a large rubber band). Use a toothbrush to ensure all glass is removed from the inner frame and that the inner edge of the frame is free from food debris etc (This is probably what caused the glass to shatter as the microwaves are attracted to food debris and would have cooked the glass causing a hotspot, this is usually evident if you look at the starting point of where the glass broke). Give the seal a clean also and reposition in the groove around the inner edge of the first frame. position the new glass panel, position the mesh screen and the middle frame. When putting all the screws back in, alternate them. left right top bottom until they are all back in (do not over tighten). Then reassembled the rest of the door by reversing the dismantling info. Let me know how you get on, please leave some feedback.

Inner glass on bosch HBC84k550b microwave shattered following arcing - have ordered replacement but need instructions on fitting it correctly

Hi,
Strangely enough I had exactly the same problem but today managed to fit the new inner glass and door panels without any problems, here is how.
YOU NEED 2 PEOPLE FOR THIS STEP. Open the door, at the top are 2 large plastics flat head screws, undo these making sure your helper is holding the door securely or itll fall on the floor, te door will unhook once the screws are fully undone
Once off you can close the microwave back up.
Now there are two screws, one in each top corner holding a funny looking plastic wing shape that slides into the inner door. They have a star screw head. Undo both of these and remove the plastic wings. When you remove these the panel underneath will try to fall off so be prepared to catch it, along with the plastic screws undone in step 1. This now unhooks like the main door did.
From here you'll be able to see the back of the inner glass. This is held in by a mesh at the back and about 15 screws, star headed again. you can simply remove all of these, that will release the front panel over the inner glass, again, you might want someone to hold the door open so the panel does not drop when you remove the last screws.
Thats it as far as taking the microwave apart. put your new glass in, remembering to make sure the rubber seal is put back between the glass and inner door.
Simply reverse the process.
It took me approximately 1 hour and I am by no means a DIY person.
Good Luck
Mike

Lisa, I do not have a solution, but have the same problem. My KA superba micro has been used about 10 times. While it was off, and while no one was home, the outer glass in the door shattered. I suspect this may be a defect.

Microwave door shattered

This is not a job you should do. Microwaves are dangerous things and can cause injury. An improperly fitted door will leak. A new door, installed and checked out by a technician is needed here The economics are beyond my area.
