I am receiving an "enter Blackberry" error although I am entering the correct password.

Assume the password is alpha-numeric SDH123. However it says it is incorrect.

Also: is it inevitable that my data will definately be lost and I will have to reload software?

  • shellykamm Nov 08, 2010

Yes, I enter blackberry at the prompt where it says enter "blackberry" it then takes me to a password prompt. It is here that I enter the password that I have always had "5266" which it displays as "5266" on the screen. I hit the enter key and it says wrong password.

So you are putting in the password / code to get into your blackberry and it is not working, is that correct? And when it says to enter blackberry, even that is not working?!

Please let me know, definitely do not keep trying it as it could wipe the hand-held if it keeps having issues.

Thanks, let me know if you have any questions or concerns, just reply to my answer here and I will be right back with you.

enter the password "deff" without the quotes... that is equivalent to 5266

    Thanks

Unfortunately it may be, if you do not have the phone backed up you will be in trouble.. but no matter what this is pretty mcuh your last option, if you are sure you were entering 5266 before then it has to be either 5266 or deff and you have probably tried 5266 numerous times so we are sure it is not that..

I had this exact same issue with a phone, and it was the character equivalent to the number I was putting in, for example 8255 which is xedd, I tried 8255 over and over and then realized it had to be the xedd, but it in and it worked.

In your case it should definitely be deff

    Thanks
    Tim

Sorry that took so long to get back to you, I typed it up and didn't submit it!

It worked though which is the important part :)

Hi,

The 'numerical' thing is what solved it for me.I was using a number sequence as my password.
Only thing is that I was not doing Alt-w-e-r (etc) I was just typing in the letters, thinking they were the numbers. So when you get to typing the password from your desktop PC, you *think* the number sequence will work but you actually have to type in the letter equivalents of those numbers from your BB keypad

So if you had Password
=123 (without tapping Alt first) then your Password=wer

And when you enter 10 times wrong password your mobile informations will get lost. Then it says Reload software 513.Then you cannot get your content back.

If it ask to do reload software:513

Follow the below steps in the website
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f489/blackberry-9000-reload-software-513-done-1067617/

You can download the flash file from below website http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads

This will reinstall the software and you mobile will be ok

Thank You
