Question about Dyna-Glo Heating & Cooling

2 Answers

I have a Dyna-Glo unvented gas-fired room heater model RMI-80NGT. The pilot light goes off when the room reaches the desired temp and the flame goes out. I can light the pilot light but it goes out once the heater has reached the desired temperature.

My Dyna-Glow Model Number: RMC-8000PGH has an Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) that will kill the pilot lite if the oxygen level gets low. Only the tip of the pilot flame touches the thermocouple. The thermocouple is bad on one of the two units that own. I plan to replace the thermocouple with an 'off the shelf' thermocouple that can be found in any heating supply house and then adjust the pilot to surround the thermocouple to keep it hot enough to keep the gas valve open. The company appears to be out of business. Their !-800 number can be found but doesn't connect to their business. Good luck with parts search! I have a 3000btu dnya glo unvented gas fied room

I'm not familiar with these heaters but I assume there is button or something you push to get the pilot to light. There will be air in the pipe between where the gas comes in and the pilot light. You have to give it enough time for the gas to push this air out of the line. Hope this helps.

Cant find set screw on pilot burner. model no. rmi 70ng dyna-glo wall gas heater.

Set screw for what? To raise the flame? Not one. What you gotta do is clean out the pilot. Least bit of dust makes the safety think oxygen is low and shuts down the heater. I flush the pilot with a drop of rust busted then I use the long spout on it to blow out the pilot. You could use a straw tubing or shop air. Take a look at the demo HERE
A great page that shows where to clean the pilot and has links to more good stuff: HERE

I have a RMI-70LP Dyna-Glo 18,000 btu unvented room heater. Can it be converted to natural gas?

These can be converted by changing the orface on the heater and also the regulator. Best to contact your gas company or Dyna Glo to obtain the correct orface for that particular heater.
