Drain the unit first off, then take out the button trap and inspect it. Get a flash light and inspect the housing to make sure it doesn't have a crack in it, check to insure the seal on the button trap, is good too. Reinstall and poor a bit of water back into the unit to see if it still leaks. If the actual housing has a crack you have to have it replaced. It is not hard to do, you would have to contact LG to get the part. Make sure you unplug the unit first.

Hello ! I have the LG wm2277hs washer machine. the problem that we are having right now is the water leaked after washing. Pleaase show me how to trouble shoot that, thanks

Hi

The water leaking on floor can be a serious issue as this may cause the inside parts to malfunction or in some cases rusting of the body. To check where exactly it is leaking; inspect the leak while it is running. After the cycle is complete quickly turn off the power, lie down the machine on left/right side and check from where the water is leaking. If it is the hose or drain pump then check whether hose is connected firmly and is not cut. If it not the hose/pump inspect if the leak is on the drum corner or anywhere back of the drum. However, if it is leaking from the circumference then it is due to transmission seal. To replace the transmission seal you'll need to disassemble the washer and the drum assembly.

Please post back in case of any issues. Hope this helps...

The washing machine leaked all over the floor. Should I get it fixed? It is 10 years old.

It may be a hose or a pump leak. If you are a do it yourselfer, repair it. If you would have to hire it repaired, it depends on the repair. Hose about $17.00. Pump About $50.00. Labor estimate for either about $95.00 to $120.00. New machine $450.00 to $1000.00. Some repair shops may give you an estimate over the phone.

Washer will not drain water and is leakiing from

HI, this leak is caused by the back up or clog in the drainage system. use the following text to troubleshoot this issue.

Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

Excellent use of your deductive reasoning skills. You may be right on both assumptions. It is not uncommon for the pump or the drain hoses to develop leaks over a period of time. You will need to remove the outside casing of the washer, however to get a good look. This link explains how to replace the washer pump:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r397092-replacing_water_pump

Even if it is not the pump, it gives you necessary steps on how to disassemble the washer. Step 7 of the write up tells you where the pump is located. Inspect the two hoses for cracks and leaks as well.

NOTE: You will need to by-pass the lid switch, however, with the case removed in order to fill the washer with water. Or...you can fill the wash tub partially, shut the unit off, unplug the washer and remove the case and look for the leak that way as well. Let me know if you wish to attempt to by-pass the lid switch - this does not involve cutting and splicing any wires.

If you require further assistance please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

My washer is leaking...

Open the rear panel on the washer. Check the 3 rubber hoses connected to the pump. Make sure there are no splits, or a **** in any of them. Also look at the pump and make sure the casing is not cracked and dripping (if coins enter the pump they can crack the casing, causing a leak). If there is a leak in a hose, replace that particular hose. If the pump casing is cracked, replace the pump.
