Question about Bosch Classixx KSR32623 Refrigerator

1 Answer

I have a brand new Bosch side by side fridge - and am curious about the plastic inserts on the door just below the butter compartment. In the 2 compartments just below there are inserts that are shaped like teardrops or long pears shapes. Not egg shapes. What are they for?

My brand new fridge, one door style will not self close.

front raise 1 or 1 1/2 inches the side that is the door hinge side is 1/2 inch higher then the handle side. Tilt it on a slit angle towards the way that will force the door with the added weight of food on door shelf's. A perfectly level fridge is a useless fridge. If its only mission is for the doors to close from the maximum range its able to open.

How do you know your Bosch Fridge Freezer needs defrosting?

Most home refrigerators share the same cooling coil for both compartments so in order to defrost the freezer that coil has to be disabled by pulling the plug. You havent mentioned the brand of refrigerator that you own but i am guessing that you have an automatic defrost. Can you hear a fan running inside the freezer compartment when the door is closed and the compressor in the back is running? If so your freezer will automatically defrost. The ice you probably see collects on the shelving or inside walls. Generally you can take the plastic handle of a screwdriver and gently tap the ice to get it to crack and fall off. Take care not to hit cold plastic parts or panels, they may crack or break. Otherwise I would get the model of the refrigerator and go to the manufacturers web site and post your question to get a positive answer. Good luck!

I have a GE side by side fridge Mod. psh23pss-sv that is showing 42 degrees on the fridge section and -2 in the freezer. No frost in the evaporator. Fan is working. Condenser is clean. Temp selection is...

check the damper assy in the upper left corner of the refrige compartment you need to remove all the plastic parts on the roof and back walls to access this part there are 2 possibilities either the fan inside this assy quit or there is a door inside here that opens and closes to throttle cold air in from the freezer compartment,a lot of times this doors mounting breaks from cold and can stick shut or wherever position it breaks in,remove it and then run the diagnostics and watch this door for operation as you enter the diagnostics, also make sure the fan in there works also,if both of these work ok then you could have a thermistor problem in one or more of the thermistors mounted in the left and right side walls midway up behind oval plastic grilles

Maytag side by side fridge not connected to any water source stand alone system except electricity. approximately 500 ml puddle of water underneath vents are clean but unsure where water is coming from...

This is what it sounds like to me. The defrost system melts away the frost in the cooling coils every 6 or 8 hours. This water goes into a tray at the bottom of the freezer compartment. there is a drain spout in the bottom of the tray. The water then goes through that into a plastic drip pan. This sits behind the vent below the doors. While the fridge is running, the water evaporates out into the the room. If the pan is missing, or cracked for some reason, the water goes onto the floor.
And that's were the water is coming from. The Fridge is not broken.
With the model number of the fridge, probably located on a placard inside the fresh food compartment, or possibly the freezer compartment, you can order a new drip pan from a parts supply house for something like $25.00 The easiest thing to do would be to put in it's place an inexpensive aluminum pan of sorts. that usually will do the trick and save money.
I hope this helps,
Happy New Year,

How to remove lower cover on clothes dryer

if this is a dryer with a separate panel below the door, get a putty knife or butter knife and insert it into the space between the door and lower panel about 2 inches in from the sides - there are two spring clips that hold the panel in place - the top leans out, lift the panel up, there are two plastic pins in the bottom of the panel to locate it

Broken light switch on fridge door

Any appliance parts store can get this switch.
Yes you can DIY. Take a butter knife and CAREFULLY pry the broken switch from the cabinet. Be careful not to scratch the plastic liner around the switch.
Remove the 2 wires, place them on the new switch and POP the new switch in place.
If this is a half-moon switch make sure it is installed in the correct direction.
