You may have changed the EV (exposure value) settings, or put it into manual mode. Try to find these settings in the menus and put them back to default or auto.

Very bright pictures from ouside

When you go outside, do you change anything in the settings? I think the camera should be in the auto, sport or something like that. If it is not in auto but in the night Scenery, night Portrait or high Sensitivity, pictures inside, with less light will be ok, but outside they will be over blown.

Camera exilim ex-s600 will not take pictures outside, pictures turning out white, yet will take pictures inside ok.is this a worthwhile repair

This seems to be a software problem with your camera. Your camera should, if on AUTO mode, automatically expose your photo accurately. Try half pressing the shutter button (used to take pictures) while outside to adjust focus and exposure, then press the button fully to take picture. If your camera cannot adjust to take a properly exposed picture (not bright white), then it is possible that the shutter speed is stuck on a too high speed, outside daytime shutter speed should be fast (1/1000 sec). Or if your shutter speed adjust accurately, it could be the aperture if the aperture is not small enough for daylight shooting. This is likely a software problem. Try adjusting your settings manually and see if the picture turns out!

Whenever photographs are taken outdoors in the daytime , the images are hazy and whitish in nature.

alter your white balance and use ISO 100 setting You may also want to make sure you have outside setting selected. This sounds like overexposure and is due to incorrect white balance.

High brightness at photos taking in light

change the ISO setting You are overexposing.

If using auto setting the ISO is the problem Set it to 100 or 64 in low light use 200-400-

In manual mode set the aperture as well so ISO 100 aperture F16

The rule of thumb is small number larger the hole ( aperture) Larger the number smaller the hole. Bright sunny days use high numbers low light low numbers. Average and Flash shots use F8
