Question about Microsoft Internet Explorer 8

1 Answer

Hi, I am unable to connect to a number of major websites, the main one being Adobe. I use Windows XP and mainly IE8 but have also tried Safari with no success. I also have a laptop running Vista and that can connect fine. I have compared the IE8 on the 2 machines and can see no differences other than a few additional options in Vista. Most website connections are fine so I am not sure how long I have had this problem. Your advice please? - Regards Alex Craig

1. Check your Firewalls/Security programs if it is blocking any websites.
2. Reset your IE8 back to default settings from "InternetOptions"

Hope it helps.

New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Where could i download macromedia flash 8 for free using windows 7 64 bit

As per Adobe Macromedia Flash 8 is not compatible with any Windows beyond XP
First, uninstall Macromedia Flash 8
confirm your version of IE8 is 32 bit, as Flash only works properly with IE 32bit
If your version of IE8 is 64bit, you have to download the 32bit version from MS site.
uninstall IE and install IE 32 bit,
support links for Adobe Flash 10 are at the below address.

Main goal, upload Adobe again. Already deleted the old version, but now when I go to upload, it locks up my explorer. Some tidbits, IE8 running on Win XP, security settings are medium. PLEASE help me.....

Have you deleted or uninstalled the older Adobe? If deleted then it will not work. You have to uninstall the previous version. What happens is that very many files are written to Windows folder and we do not know which ones. Hence when we delete a program we only delete what we see and not all. For that you must uninstall the program. That will delete all files wherever they may have been written.
Please uninstall the program and then try to reinstall after a reboot.

IE 7.0 will not play videos and will not download of Flashplayer

• First of all, make sure that your computer is up-to-date on all Java and Flash software.
- Download the java updates here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
- Download the flash updates here: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
• Reboot computer to apply changes and try again.
• If that does not work, run a spyware and a virus scan on your computer. Windows Defender will check for spyware and it is free. Avast Antivirus will check for viruses and is also free.
- Download Windows Defender here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=435BFCE7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en&mg_id=10134
- Download Avast Antivirus here: http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
• If those steps haven't helped, let's try different web browsers. The main ones for Windows, besides IE, are, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. Try them one at a time to see if you have success viewing your e-mail messages.
- Download Firefox here: http://www.mozilla.com/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.5&os=win&lang=en-US
- Download Safari here: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/
- Download Opera here: http://www.opera.com/download/

I know this seems like alot to absorb, but somewhere in these steps, I believe you'll find the solution to your problem. Good luck and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Missing and unrecoverable INTERNET OPTIONS in XP Windows 2000

If you still have the IE8 Beta 2 setup progrram on your system, run it and select the 'Repair installation' option if presented. If that's not there, you could try to reinstall over the existing installation, or you could go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Select Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 and uninstall it. Reboot the computer and check to see if your previous version of IE is working properly.

If that works and you still want IE8, download the latest version from the MS site and install, since Beta 2 is old. I am currently using RC1 but the RTM version may be available by now.

Let me know if this doesn't work and we can look at other options.
