Indoor unit return air sensor fault, Open or Short. Disconnect sensor from PCB and measure resistance. 8 kOhm at 30C and 13 kOhm at 20C if not replace sensor.

LG Artcool about 4 yrs old error code CH 05. no heating or cooling. cheers.

CH 5 on these machines indicates a communications error between the indoor and outdoor units. Generally, it will require a replacement outdoor board assy to repair it. Lookup LG parts on the internet or ring them for your nearest Agent or parts stockist.

I have a LG Artcool LAN121HNP the unit will only ciculate air (not cool) it is only 2 years old. I have had an HVAC guy look at it, he says the compressor is fine. We have put a new board in the outside...

Make sure none of the thermostat wires from the inside unit to the outside unit have come loose or have be cut by a weed eater or such. These units are a little more complex than your average heat pump.
