Question about Ruud Heating & Cooling
I had a RUDD unit installed last year at a condo at the beach. We arrived tonight and only the fan is running. When I go to look at unit outside, it isn't running. We've looked at the fuse box and thought of any way it's not getting power but can't figure it out. I'm sure the last time it was turned on because we do not rent the unit and were here last month but it was still cold and we didn't use it. HELP...we are burning up!
AC Unit humm but fan dosnt tun on unit. I turn the power on and off and can hear it click. Help???

Ok it unit is a central I'm suspecting a voltage transformer is defective you see these units need 24v to turn on certain components but if your air handler turns on, your getting 24v to the fan relay, the problem would be elsewhere. if your handy with a volt meter open the thermostat(if applicable) put the meter on ac volts and measure to see if there's 24v between the R and Y terminals
if so your cooling contactor is defective. (If you get 24 v and unit outside dosen't turn on) if there isn't some fuse on the air handler control board blew out.
