Question about Sony Handycam DCR-SR82 Camcorder
My SR82 got touch screen problem.
When I turn it on, I don't see the normal screen anymore.
I see only lines, like distorted screen.
Rarely I can get normal screen.
Does anybody have this problem?
You should take it in to a repair shop to have them look at it.
How is the picture quality when you record?

It is the ribbon cable by the hinge. I replaced my from my brothers cracked camera it lasted 8 months and that too went bad. It is very tedious and risky job to replace the ribbon. I am sure Sony is aware of it and keep quite.

I have the same problem, I just discovered tonight that it was because the LCD screen is too cold, just heat it up by blowing hot air on the LCD screen (e.g. with your mouth), it should be ok after about 2 minutes. However, you will need to do this again after you turn it off and let the LCD cooled down.
