Question about Xerox Phaser 8500N Printer

Timeout error results in 100's of pages of code from small Word doc or the like... firmware and driver upgrades do not resolve.... anyone have insight?

    Thanks for your note. I've tried several different USB cables, but I can try a brand new one. Its also happened in Excel, and from Gmail, and from PDF.

    I also am experiencing the same problem. I have installed the latest firmware upgrades and still no fix. When the printer is idle for a day or so this is when the problem occurs. The problem is resolved after a fresh restart.

    Any other solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Do have another printer cable you can use between the printer and the computer?

Usually thats the culprit when the document don't print out in the correct format in Word.

49.XXXX errors are commonly firmware problems.
Go to
Click Download Drivers and
Software. Check for the latest firmware
image version at the bottom of the page.
If this firmware image is newer than the
one installed on the device and the
device can receive a firmware update,
download the newer firmware upgrade

My scanner screen says that the scanner bulb is warming up,but nothing happens. Also my cancel light continually flashes. What could be the cause of this?

Scanner Bulb Error Message

A Scanner Bulb Error message is received as a result of the HP LaserJet 3300mfp series product scanner's inability to find the home reference point.
Perform the following steps to walk the scan assembly from the home base and resolve the issue.

Remove and replace the power cord from the unit.
Wait approximately 35 seconds for the scanning assembly to "walk out" and then quickly remove the plug again.
Repeat steps 1 and 2, three to four times until the head moves approximately 1 inch away from its normal resting place.
Replace the plug and let the product fully finish the boot cycle.

If this does not resolve the issue or the issue returns, upgrading the product firmware may help. The firmware upgrade can be found at the HP Web site Downloads, Drivers, and Notifications page .

Please help. The device prints once and then stops printing until restarted. This process continues between every print job. The message printed out from the printer is as follows: ERROR:...

This is a corrupted Postscript error.
Possible solutions are, reload up to date driver and/or firmware. Go to Xerox website address below for drivers and firmware.
This could also be a program specific problem, try printing from another software package.
Finally, you could try an NVRAM reset. Go to 'Troubleshooting', 'Service Tools', 'Reset NVRAM'. WARNING, before performing an NVRAM reset, print out a configuration page. 'Information', 'Information Pages', 'Configuration Page'. This print out will give you all the printers settings, including your network settings, which will be lost through the reset. You will need to re input them through 'Printer Setup', 'Connection Setup', 'TCPIP'.

On a kodak c33o camera i get error code e 00100 when i try to format memory card

Hi there.
If the SD card is over 1GB then the camera does not support it.

The Kodak Website States that your Camera does NOT Support 2 Gig SD Cards...

However, there is a Firmware Upgrade Located at the Link Below that is said to Help Resolve this Issue...

Answer : To resolve this error condition, correctly position a calibration page on the scanner. See the User's Guide for more information. The printer will not operate while the door is open. How do I resolve the error message "Color ink cartridge missing or not installed correctly"? Error Codes : 3511 Question :
How do I resolve the error message "Color ink cartridge missing or not installed correctly"?
Answer :
To resolve this error condition, reinstall the ink cartridge:
  1. Remove the color ink cartridge:
    1. Open the printer access door by lifting from the front center of the unit.
    2. Wait until the printhead is idle and silent, then pinch the latch on the color ink cartridge with your thumb and forefinger and lift it out of the printhead.
  2. Check the two electrical contacts on the ink cartridge for small marks, which should appear if the cartridge was installed correctly.

    If the electrical contacts do not have small marks:
    1. Reinstall the ink cartridge, making sure you press down on it until it clicks into position.
    2. Remove the color ink cartridge, then check the two electrical contacts on the ink cartridge again for small marks. Repeat if necessary.
    3. Reinstall the ink cartridge.
  3. Close the printer access door.

NOTE: See the User's Guide for more information about removing and installing the ink cartridge.
If the error persists:
  1. In the KODAK All-in-One Home Center, select the Help (?) icon.
  2. Select Maintenance.
  3. Select Firmware Upgrade, then follow the prompts to download the latest version of firmware, free of charge.

DVD writing problem -'HW error, Timeout on logical unit'

What software are you using to burn and what type of dvd are you trying to burn.(+), (-), or (RW). Do you have a copy of NERO? has NERO (I think) try a different then try a different disk. Some where it even said to try defragging the hard drive...It wouldn't hurt. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim
