How good are you with a soldering iron? This problem on this TV is usually the faulty connections on the SMPS. Most likely all the parts on the board are good but sometimes ICQ805 is also faulty(most likely it is just the solder connections). You can try heating one area of the board at a time with a hair dryer and see if it stays on for longer. Sometimes you have to heat then freeze to prove the malfunction. IMPORTANT: If you are not good with a soldering iron or don't have a steady hand, LET A PROFESSIONAL DO THE REPAIR. The SMPS is a very delicate circuit and can be easily damaged. If you do this repair incorrectly you will be forced to replace the whole board.

Samsung TV shutting off by itself and relays clicking

If you don't know what you're doing, don't open it up to fix it!
There are HAZARDOUS voltages on the power supply board EVEN WITH THE TV UNPLUGGED!!! The capacitors can hold a charge for several weeks!

Clicking noise can be coming from bad capacitors on the power supply board.

It's usually easier to just replace the power supply board.

I have a Scott flat screen tv model# LCT39SHA It comes on then after few seconds or up to 10 minutes it shuts off.

There are two things you can do: open the TV and examing the power supply board for visually bulged capacitors and replace them yourself.

Or bring or send a board for service to someone who would do it for you, for example

There is also a third option, which is to just get a replcement power supply board. It's not necessarily bad one, but if it is an old and used board that has NOT been serviced and capacitors that tend to go bad replaced, then it will likely do the same in near future.

Your power supply board is dead, u know basic electronics' and soldering? Most of the times, the power supply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors. These capacitors always bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get your TV power stable, and work again.Or tries websites like, to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I hope this will help to solve the problem....

TV plays for 10 to 25 minutes, then the picture shuts off, but the volume continue to play.

Since you have a picture for 10 to 25 min., we know that nothing is directly shorted. Look for bad connections in power supply and horizontal circuit or possibly bad capacitors in power supply.

My tv goes click click click and keeps clicking when i turn it on. I have no picture or sound

In most cases it is the capacitors in he power supply section that have gone out.

Common symtoms are
-shuts down
-takes a long time to come on
-relay clicks
-dead set

You can get capacitors online or you can get a complete kit with instructions and support from . Its a failry easy DIY fix.

Samsung TV...Turn on tv, it operates for maybe a minute, then shuts itself off and has a consistant clicking pattern, like a relay switch. Sometimes turns itself back on

Not knowing the specific model for your Samsung TV and how old it is, I can only offer this possibility because I've encountered what sounds like the same problem. Certain models of Samsung HDTVs around 3-4 years back have a design problem with their power supplies - they put in the wrong size capacitors (aka "Caps"). After a few years, the capacitors fail, and the power supply also fails. I think it's possible to replace individual capacitors, but most likely you will have to replace the power supply. Unfortunately if it's out of warranty, it will cost several hundred dollars, especially for a home / onsite visit. There is a visible symptom - from 2-6 capacitors on the power supply board will bulge out, as shown in this pic:digizen.jpg
You might try calling Samsung customer service and tell them you are aware of problems with their power supply design, and try to get them to repair the TV for free, especially if you are just out of warranty.

3 minutes after turn-on, picture gets scrambled

It could be the transformer on its way out on the power board, unplug the tv and take the back of, Trace the the power cord to the transfomer which will be a big square componant, take care not to touch any capacitors, they could still be charged, and have a look for any dark marks on it and check for a burning smell. It'll need to be changed if you do.

Also have a look at the capacitors andand check to see if you can see any signs of leakage or slightly dommed tops, the capacitors should be completly flat at the top. They'll need to be changed if there are any.

Also there is normally a small fuse on the power board somwhere, have a look around and you should find it, it might be worth swapping it out.

Power problems problem on

I would try a power drain:  Unplug the TV's power cable so the TV is not grounded to the house.  Then press and hold in the TV's own power button for one minute to drain the capacitors. Plug the TV back in and see what happens.  If the TV will still not turn on, I would say you have a problem with the TV's mainboard as a dead power supply will not light any LED's for you.

Click picture is barely visible

A click means the power to the LCD has been shut off. Try resetting the TV, pull the AC plug, wait a minute then replug.
