I have a Bose Lifestyle 36 w/VS-2 Video Enhancer. It is connected to my Comcast Cable box, a Sony PS3, and of course my Sony 51" SXRD Projection TV. Everything was going just fine, when, this morning I turn on the TV, cablebox, and Lifestyle system, and the picture is going in and out. Sound is fine. Now I get no picture at all, but sound is still good. My TV is set so that whether I select VCR (PS3) or cablebox on the Bose remote, the picture comes only on video output 6. I only have an HDMI cable running from VS-2 to back of TV in HDMI port 6. Nobody had or has touched anything on the equipment and it just started having this picture issue. If I do select VCR and turn on the PS3, I also get no picture. Could the HDMI cable gone bad. How can I attempt to remedy this? Thanks.
Well if you would need another hdmi cable to test it. First ensure all connection are properly plugged in. Another thing to test is to maybe take your ps3 plug it into your tv to ensure that its not the tv itself. After all this doesnt work it maybe the video out itself has just worn out. There are many things we can try to do before hand before we come to the conclussion the lifesystem is broke. Which might even be getting another hdmi cable to test out. If when you do get a hdmi cable and it still doesnt work. Call Bose and have it serviced. I can speak first hand for bose customer service and great turn around rates on servicing. They have good warrantys. let me know if any of the tips to try I told you works so I can further help resolve your issue.
thanks Nathan
Not a Problem and i will be here all day tomorrow to assist you further
Thank You,
Nathan
well in a store they are a 100 dollars. online its about 20 dollars but we need something sooner then that. Alternatively you can goto you cable store or company and they have them. I have comcast where i live and i recieved my hdmi cable from them.
Its most likely Not the cable though. Last night i was reading about the 35 and 38 and they have problems especially with the video part. If i were you i would just call bose and get it serviced.
But as a place to start try and hook up your PS3 to your tv to ensure its the Bose vs2. If everything else works its your Bose system. From all the material i can find your not the first and wont be the Last. If your cable box or ps3 has a hdmi out. I'd like if you tried to hook up one of those to your tv through hdmi to ensure its not the cable. Although im 99.9% sure that with the quality of HDMI cables that yours is not broken. Specially if no one has agitated it, its fine.
Your VS-2 has whats called up conversion. Which is when you plug everything in and It just goes out your HDMI. This is a very difficult thing to do for any type of equipment and i believe this is where your problem lies. But that is a issue best left to Bose service center. I dont think that your lifestyle system is broke i think its just your Vs-2. So if you can eliminate the VS-2 we can come to the source of your problem.
here is a link of a website I use to order things like HDMI cables cause they have such a great price. CLICK HERE FOR HDMI CABLES

Hi, First thing unplug both ends of the cable and replug them in.
After that we will work from there keep me updated,
Lee
Also are you sure it is a 36? I don't believe there is a model number 36. Possibly 35 or 38. This will help us if the first solution doesn't work.
Thanks,
Lee
Anytime I will look forward to your response. Check all connections when you get a chance. I will do some more research and hope to have a clear answer by then.
Good luck,
Lee
I hope to hear back from you. I will assume by no response that you got your problem solved and/or you found my solution more then adequate. I'm sorry it must be a 38. It was one step down from the top model. It is six months old. I have tried removing both ends of the cable, and replugged them back in, but to no avail. Tomorrow I will get another HDMI to rule out faulty cable. I need to hit the sack for an early rise tomorrow. I will continue this thread then. Thx for responding.
HDMI cables are over $100.00. To buy one to see if my current cable is bad, is risky. Is there another point we can start with? Thanks.
Thx Nate. Weird..your responses just came to me today. I was able to have Bose help me. It came down to running thru some steps and when I came to the part dealing with video resolution, I was able to reset it just by swithcing it backa nd forth once. Thank you very much. I wish your responses had come thru, but here it is the 19th and I just got alerted to them in my email. No big deal. Thanks a bunch for the link to cables too.
