Question about Ricoh Aficio SP C410DN Laser Printer

I have a Ricoh SP C410DN color laser printer and when I try to run AUTO ADJUST for the color registration under the maintenance menu, I get a message saying : "Color Registration could not be performed". The problem I am having is the colors are not all perfectly in-line and I am getting an offset appearance of the yellow in particular.

    I tried the solution of reseating the black and color drums 2x and each time it did not work, I still get the message "Color Registration could not be performed". I followed the steps very carefully. Thanks.

    It happens that we have a second one of these printers. So I swapped out the color drums. Unfortunately that did not take care of the problem.

    Thanks for sending the information, but I don't understand why these links go to machines that are different than the SP C410DN. Am I missing something?

Hello.

From Ricoh Support:

Try reseating the Black Photo Conductor Unit (PCU) and the color PCU, then run the Auto Color registration from the Menu.

First, turn off the power, and then unplug the power cable.
Carefully open the left cover.
Reseat (remove and reinsert) the black and color PCU.

PLEASE NOTE:

Exposure to light reduces photo conductor unit performance. Replace the unit as quickly as possible.
? Do not pull out the photo conductor unit with force or haste - it may fall and you may damage the printer.
? Take care that nothing comes into contact with the surface of the photo conductor.
? Place no objects on the left or inner cover.

How to restore to factory default settings ricoh


enter service mode then execute these service programs I would do an sp print
5990- 2 out first just in case

5801 Memory Clear
Resets software counters and returns modes and settings to their defaults.
All clear: Clears all data
Engine clear: Clears the printer engine settings
SCS: Clears the systems settings
PRT: Clears user mode system settings
NCS: Network control systems - Clears the items listed in the “Host Interface”
section of the Configuration page.
DCS: Delivery control system (e-mail settings)
MIRS: E-mail addresses
5801 1 Memory all clear
5801 2 Engine memory clear
Resets the following user tool settings:
Maintenance menu: Main scan registration, sub scan registration, image
density, curl control
Resets the settings of the following SPs: 1003, 1104, 1105, 1902, 1910, 2001,
2112, 2113, 2201, 2213, 2301, 2910, 3921, 3922, 3923, 3924, 5930
5801 3 SCS memory clear
Resets the following user tool settings:

Ricoh sp c410 yellow toner is offset in prints


Go into the menu that says maintence )I think) and do the color registration.

It sounds like the part the toner bottle slides under to lock in place is broken. you could try and fold some paper and tape it to the toner to hold it down.

Ricoh SP c410DN - print dots verticaly down the page - I have clean the roller as instructed.


Notice what color the dots are. Most of the time you need to replace that color photoconductor.

Ricoh Aficio Color Registration Error


One of our Ricoh CL3500N printers- less than a year old- gave us a "color regist error" after changing the transfer belt.

Ran the "adjust color regist" without results. It would just finish and pop back up with the same error.

Color test page printed no color, just BW

I reseated everything, and even replaced the PCU without positive results.

A couple hours later I went back, took everything out (be sure to keep the pcus out of the light!), and vaccuumed the heck outta that printer.

For whatever reason- maybe there was a chunk of toner hanging out, maybe I knocked something loose or back in place, whatever- but when I put all the parts in and turned it on, the error was gone and color printed great!
