Latch stuck on bosch dishwasher

I took the door off like you suggested. I can't find this u shaped item that I need to move forward. I have tried pulling everything behind the female part of the latch and nothing budges. Can I get a better description of the u shaped item?

We removed the front door. Where the latch is located, there was a white piece with a pin sticking out and a cross bar that was held in place by the white piece. We used a screwdriver to open a space in the white piece so that the cross bat could slip out the bottom of the white piece. Then, we could push from behind on the metal part that had the pin. The metal part rotated and released the latch. We then replaced the cross bar into the white piece. Be careful -- the solution worked to unlatch the latch, but our diswasher still doesn't close well during the wash cycle.

Hi just read your posting. What you need to do is to get a pointy small knife and put it between the door and frame and move it till you stop at the internal latch. Now lever the latch up and pull the door open. The part you need to change is the t shaped plastic rod. Please turn off the power before you undo the screws to change the plastic rod. Please reply for further help or information.Looking forward to your reply.

My Bosch Dishwasher 6800 is not rinsing...after HOURS of running, sometimes the bottom of the washer is filled with suds. I use very little detergent and still have trouble.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a Bosch dishwasher, however if you could post the complete model number (6800 is incomplete) I can speak directly about possible remedies instead of generalizing.

The one possible problem could be your door switch in the latch assy, hence it present's an error code.

Thank you for choosing FixYa. I'll need to watch for your reply before moving forward.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Door won't close

Unscrew the screws on the inside of the door. You will need a special star looking screw driver head. Unscrew all the screws have a towel or someone to hold the door face so it doesn't get scratch when it comes apart from the stainless side since that is what is attached to the dishwasher. Then look near the top front kind of where the latch would be. There is a black thing it looks sort of U shaped and you'll need to pull that forward. It was a little hard to pull it but u will be able to do just with finger tip. By pulling that forward actually will make that black thing in that female thing on the stainless side move back into the right position. You'll probably need help putting the face back on since the stainless part wants to close. Just use your foot to prop the far side as you aligned the side closest to you and then put the screws back in.

Your problem will get fixed

twist a paperclip around some pliers so you have a circle opening. then hook the paperclip around the latch and pull outward with the pliers. once the latch is facing outwards the door should close again

Bosch Dishwasher SHX46A latch stuck in down possition.

look at the latch via the hole in the door where it closes to the tank? is the latch faced away from the tank? if so, then grab a paper clip and fold it so you can hook it around the latch then just pull outward towards the tank. you might need to hold that paper clip with some pliers. if it happens more than once then you will need to replace that door lock.

Can't close Bosch Dishwasher door

I had same problem and was alarmed at the idea of taking the door apart, so I tried the 2 screwdriver option described below - it works!

Open door and get two small screwdirvers behind each side of the catch inside the top of the door and gently apply pressure. The catch should reset itself on 'open' and allow you to shut the door again.

Thanks to all for their postings and helpful advice!
