SOURCE: auxilliary audio connection
I don't expect a 2 channel amp would have a digital input such as optical. More likely you would be able to pull analog stereo (red and white RCAs) off the Panasonic and run to the JVC.

SOURCE: I'm trying to use external
Ok, at the REAR of your set, the should be a pair of Jacks, RED & WHITE, these are your standard Audio OUT, L & R Stereo.
if you are wishing to use surround sound, then that must go to a stereo to 5 speaker adapter.... The surround sound is a CODE impressed upon the stereo signal, that requires a decoder to decode and then to split it up, and send to the various speakers
Sometimes the sound is utilized via the HDMI port, if the set has one, then .this would need to be used to output the sound, again one needs a converter.
If using the Optical out, then one must use an optical converter, and Enable it's output from the device, it may not be set to do this as default.
