Question about Philips Brilliance 420P 42 in EDTVReady Plasma TV
It may look like it is cracked but it isn't. A plasma panel can't function if cracked as it would evacuate the gases contained in the panel. What you are seeing is most likely delamination of the screen. This sometimes happens on its own but usually occurs when the TV is moved or stored incorrectly. The elements of the panel actually detach themselves from each other and the bonding between them is what you see. This is assuming the glass screen on the outside portion of the panel hasn't been cracked.
