Make sure that the track-pad (mouse-pad) is not disabled. There should be a button located above the track-pad that allows you to disable or enable the track-pad. If not, I would use a USB mouse and then go into the Control Panel, mouse and change settings there to enable the track-pad.

THE CURSOR IS NOT DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN OPERATING SYSTEM: WINDOWS 8.1 PRO PRODUCT :ACER ASPIRE ES1-512

the proposed solution is to edit one registry item. Here is how you do it:
1) From the desktop right-click on the start icon and then click 'Run'

2) In the Run box type in 'regedit' without the quote marks and click OK

3) this will open Windows Registry Editor, now navigate to this path by clicking on the folders in the left hand panel: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

4) Once you have opened the system folder you should look down the list that appears in the main box to the right of the panel until you find an entry called EnableCursorSupression double click this entry

5) This will bring up a box that has a value data of 1. Change this to 0 and click OK

6)Close the registry Editor and restart your computer

How do I fix cursor. When I use my cursor some times it want respond to the location I need it to go.How can I fix it?

Instructions
    • 1 Close all application windows and restart the laptop. This will shut down any background processes that might be affecting your cursor. Rebooting often remedies cursor skipping problems.
    • 2 Run antivirus software to confirm that your misbehaving cursor is not caused by malware. If the cursor has changed to an unfamiliar shape without you initiating the change, your system could be infected by a virus or you might have installed unstable software. Run an antivirus scan and remove suspicious files and programs from your laptop.
    • 3 Adjust your touchpad's settings. In Windows, open "Control Panel," click on "Mouse" and then click "Tapping." On a Mac, access "Trackpad" and "System Preferences." Lower the tracking speed or sensitivity so that if you are accidentally touching the touchpad while typing, you are less likely to cause the cursor to skip. Save your new settings.

Acer Aspire M/ The cursor disappeared and I cant get it back

first confirm that your touch pad is working or not. yor touch pad may be disabled or it may be dead. you can enable your touch pad in it's setting. you can connect an external mouse to your laptop to check that. or you can enable mouse keys in control panel.

Cursor jumps into a previously-typed word or line and emails won't open

which email account ??

Acer laptop computers come with built-in touchpads to control cursor movement onscreen. Depending on the sensitivity and settings of the touchpad, it may register undesired motions as mouse controls, causing the cursor to jump erratically. The software drivers that Acer includes with its systems have sensitivity options that help alleviate this problem and ensure that only deliberate touchpad motions and taps cause the cursor to move.

Click on the Start menu and open the Control Panel. Choose an "Icon View" option from the "View by" dropdown menu, then click the "Mouse" icon. Navigate to the "Device Settings" tab and click on the Synaptics device in the list. If you have installed and use custom software other than a Synaptics application for controlling the touchpad, select it instead. Click the "Settings" button. Click the "+" symbol to expand the "Pointing" section in the left frame, and then the "Sensitivity" section. Click on "PalmCheck." If you have replaced the Synaptics drivers, the menu may use a different set of options. Click and drag the bar to the right, closer to the "Maximum" setting. An increased PalmCheck setting will help decrease cursor jumping due to accidental palm activations, a common occurrence when typing. Click on "Touch Sensitivity." Click and drag the bar to the right, closer to the "Heavy Touch" end. This will ensure light brushes by fingers or accidental activations by other objects will not cause the cursor to jump. Click "Apply" to test the settings, and "OK" when satisfied to save the changes and close the window.

Curser freezes

When you said your cursor freeze, does the computer still respond or the whole computer froze. If the computer froze, then it could be anything from, memory, hard drive, cpu, or mainboard. Does the keyboard works, if just the cursor freeze, try using a usb mouse.

Drfting cursor

This is a well known occurance with laptops and is not something you can fix. Occasionally the manufacturer will release a patch to try and help, but this is very rare.
