SOURCE: Hitachi DV-PF33U DVD Player / VCR Combo

It sounds like the sensor to tell the microcontroller that the tape is moving is not working. If that is so, the VCR would probably do the same thing in FF or Rewind. If you end up taking this unit into a repair shop, have them check the DVD's software version (it should be 1.250) If below that number, have them upgrade that as well. You can check the version yourself by pressing 1,2,3,4 and then "display" on the remote while the unit is on and no disc in DVD. After noting the version, just hit "power" on the remote to exit this mode.

SOURCE: Daewoo DV-6T955B DVD Player Problem

I have the same model and i can put a disk in and it will read it then the next time he same disc and it says no disc. when this happens I use a dvd cleaner disc, ( its a DVD with a little brush glued to it) it seems to help. and I know this goes against everything you have ever learned about discs. but sometimes I find if the disc is to clean and shiny, the 6t955b has trbl reading it, rub the disc on your shirt or pants and make some lite swirl marks on it. not sure why but it works

SOURCE: LG DVD RECORDER MODEL DV7711P

I have had this on a number of other players. First try the disks in question on another DVD player after giving them a thorough clean. If they work there then you know the problem is not with the disks.

After that (assuming the RH299 is actually working in every other respect e.g. on HDD), run a laser cleaning DVD/CD in the machine to clean the laser lens. If your machine is out of warranty then you can try opening it and cleaning the laser lens with rectified spirits/pure alcohol. Then try the disks again. If they still don't play, then it's off to a local electronics expert to see if realigning or replacing the laser and transport mechanism is economically viable, or buy a new machine.

SOURCE: LG BD300 dvd palyer region free code

To set DVD Region to “0”, download file “6000.zip” (often also called “LG6000.zip”) from here:

http://www.multi-region.net/_media/6000.zip

Save the file and then unzip and extract it to your hard drive.

Now burn the subdirectory RMTM0000 and its contents (not the text file) onto a CD-ROM (ISO format, “closed” CD-ROM).

Insert CD-ROM into the LG BD 370 P player, and when the Region Management System screen is displayed, set the Region Code to “0” using your remote. Once done, press “PAUSE” on you remote to save, and you’re done!

Sounds like sled motor [the motor that help to spin the disc inside] is faulty. This is purely a mechanical fault. Contact any service technician. The CD drive mechanism should be taken out from the device, for repair. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. I have a philips hts6510 home theatre system and when i put a dvd in to play it says no disc

hi,
Normally a dvd player shows the message NO DISC when,
1. The disc inserted is bad.
2 The lase pickup unit inside the dvd lost its reading intensity, dirty lens or the spindle motor damaged .

In your case the second one happened. the intensity of the laser pickup unit has lost or the spindle motor faulty or there is some dust on its lens. just insert a cleaning cd in it for two or three times. then check again is the DVD is reading or not

if the problem remains then you have to check the motor and the laser pickup unit. the lase pickup unit have two laser emitter and receiver in its inside . one for reading and playing DVDs and the other for CD and MP3. also the spindle motor runs in different speed when u insert dvd and cd.

Open the cover of your dvd player and power it on insert an audio cd and watch is it reading or not also notice the speed of the spindling of the cd. if the audio cd reads and play. then the possible problem is the spindle motor

To conform it remove the audio cd and insert a dvd. watch the rotation of the dvd. if it feel very hard to rotate it then, the spindle motor is damaged. if so replace the spindle motor if it runs more the the speed of than audio cd then the laser pickup unit is faulty. Then u have to replace the laser pickup unit.
if you need any further assistance from me , feel free to contact me through fixya.
ok

Hi. my promlem is the usb works perfectly but the disk drive is not. when i insert a dvd it says err disc

this is due to the spindle motor which rotates the disc at irregular speed or the opticle pickup assembly. The only solution for pickup assembly if it is faulty is to replace

Panasonic RV32 DVD player has an H07 error

This code means that the spindle motor did not come up to speed and the only way to fix it is to first find out if its the driver servo circuit thats bad or the spindle motor itself is defective. If you know how to trouble shoot a motor speed control servo sure you can fix it, But theres no easy wand waving fix for this unit. Sorry.
u may try new spindle motor

Error Message H07 - what is it?

The last time I opened up my Panasonic DVD-CV52, I looked at the little white bush on the motor spindle, it has a small spring which presses against the side of the bush. I can see no purpose for this spring/bush other than to provide some drag to the motor. Anyway, I removed the spring, so that the bush would no longer drag against the shaft, that was a few years back, and I haven't had a problem since. Of course a temporary solution is to oil the bush!
The www.ledcar.com/pdvdh07/ link mentioned above provides an excellent pictorial guide to disassemble and reassemble the player.
