i just downgraded my psp and know i need help to update it to 4.01. i don't have internet so i can't find help. when i try to update it it says either ( a dns error has occured) or (the connection was broken). i you can help my psp from it ending up in the garbage plz help.!?

UMMM you don't need to upgrade you need to downgrade. Once you downgrade you can actually go ahead and upgrade to a custom firmware wich are the ones that allow you to do that and much more. If you really want to know how to do this and are still interested please send me an email at angelitoseriv@gmail.com. I say email because its a long process and i would need to ask you some questions about your psp and other stuff to so if you want more help send me a message with psp info as the tittle.

as angelitoserr said,you need to downgrade your PSPs using something called a Pandora's Battery.
Unless you know someone with firmware 1.5 or is running custom firmware,you will probably have to hardmod a battery (possible fire hazard).
ive been hacking psps for about 2 years,and i know this process far too well.
also,you can go to live.skikarl.com for psp help,as we have people that should be there round the clock ready to help you :D.
