Sounds to me that what ever you tried to run or install requires more RAM than your laptop has available.
If you think that the RAM should be sufficient, click on Start, select Control Panel and select System. That should tell you how much RAM you have installed and how much is available.
An error like this can be caused by faulty RAM or two or more RAM cards inserted that are not identical.
