Black Screen I just bought the card and have been using it for a week and all of a sudden the screen will go black for like 2 seconds and i move the mouse and it goes back and then a few minutes later it will do the same thing. I haven't installed any of the drivers and i'm not sure what ones to install if i need any. Also, the colours on the screen like the change.

Black Screen after installing new NVidia 9400GT

Put the old card back in, remove the old drivers and restart it in VGA mode.
You don't say what operating system you use, but XP & Vista you should be able to hit F8 before the windows splash screen to select VGA mode or Safe Mode.
Once you do that you should be able to put the new card in and start it in standard VGA mode then load the new drivers.

Video cuts out suddenly, have to reboot

Check to see if your video card is excessively hot. It sounds as if your video card is overheating and going into thermal protection.
A lot of times, when the GPU is damaged it will overheat as one of the final signs before it's impending death.
If this is the case I would replace it.

Either the cable or the port it plugs in to is defective, niether of which should be expensive to repair. Obviously the first thing to try is a replacement cable.

Hope this helps,
