Question about Mitsubishi WS-65413 65" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

I pressed A/V Reset by accident!

I pressed A/V Reset by accident and now the color is violet and yellowish green and the sound is on a completely different input. I have a Charter cable DVR box. The people at charter are NO help. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it? Thanks!

Good Day Emil;

You did not break the TV it is okay. Try resetting the TV by unplugging it from the wall then back in after 4-5 minutes. If that does not correct your concern go into the menu and adjust device and color setting. Look for set up.

Good Luck, let me know if this was helpful.

Wd52525 yellowish color when static. Menu has some pixelation. Colors are off.

It does not matter---these sets are so bad (this one) they sell the entire chassis or the light engine which has the color wheel in it and last time I looked the wheel does not come unless you buy the engine.

Walter and Barbara Bradford calling back with additional info. The cable box is explorer 4250HDC.It is hooked to the TV with 5 cable hookup.Also there is the power wire and the cable that goes to the box...

what are you trying to do? to hook up the tv you can use the cable output from the charter box into cable input into the tv (meaning cable as in coax cable) otherwise you can use the colored ones. red white an yellow are rca jacks but the 5 wire you talking about are prob compondent cables which are red green and blue. connect those to the tv and the other red and white ones are for audio to the tv you may have to set the charter box to select which output you are using and the tv to the right input for the rca it will prob be input 1 for the component it will be component 1
let me know if thats what you needed

Toshiba 65H80 has yellow hue.

Check you HD inputs or source. Sounds like the red stream is missing; maybe a loose cable.

Not true color

I seem to have found the solution (and the cause, perhaps?) for this problem!

I was having the EXACT same problem with a monitor I'm repairing for a friend. The capacitors on the power supply board were blown (CapXon capacitors, who'd've guessed), which was keeping it from powering up. After replacing the capacitors, the screen worked beautifully. But it had this weird yellow tint!

The strange part was that pure colors - red, green, blue - all appeared perfectly OK on screen. Curiously, the menus would show in the proper colors, except for one: the manual color adjustment menu, which illustrated "Blue" as a sort of off-green in the icon. Auto-Adjust would always fix the colors for a split second, then go back to yellow. Reset didn't fix it. Color reset didn't either. So, exactly the same problem as above.

The solution I found was hidden within the main menu itself, a sort of "easter egg". Hold the Menu button down while pressing Power, and hold it down until the screen, and menu, appear. There will now be a hidden selection, "Auto Color", printed in a red-on-black font at the bottom of the menu. Use the +/- buttons to access it, and press Menu. Voila! PERFECT COLOR! Perhaps this menu was accessed by accident, and calibrated to an incorrect color key. But now my picture works great, and the setting lasts through Auto-Adjusts and Resets!
