I would check your fill valve screen, where your water line connects to
the dishwasher, lots of times i will see that screen clogged,
especially on customers homes that have wells.
There is no way to change the fill time on these. There
is also the potential problem with the float sticking if it is gunked
up it will not allow water in...see that it moves up and down freely
and you should here a clicking noise.....If it is not one of these
there could be a problem...with the timer...I am providing a link that
will help walk you through this problem in a more
technical...manner...if you are not comfortable performing these
tests...i suggest you fore go it and let a tech handle it....
My GE Nautilus, Serial # GSD363F00W, Model # LA774908 is about 3 or 4 years old. I use it at least once a day. It has been working fine. Today I turned it on, red light came on, and I heard activity of some sort inside machine but no water came. Turned washer off, looked inside, no water. Turned machine back on, again heard some sort of activity but again no water came. Tried twisting the dial through the washing cycles, detergent cup dispensed detergent and dry heat come on, but no water.
The washer may be attempting to run dry. Many times on these washers, a person may open the washer and then go to another load. The washer gets stuck with a dry pump until the timer tells water fill valve to open. Easy test. Start on regular cycle ,slowly advance the timer. it will click until you here the fill start and water will fill until.....
It may be the motor start capacitor or the motor or the wiring to it. Some units have a built-in switch that shuts the unit off if the motor doesn't start turning after a short interval. However, if it drains it usually means the motor runs enough to pump it out. These units usually stop draining when the fill switch opens at the lower level.
