No picture. The screen is just black with different icons on it (battery level, 'red eye', etc).

Hey qui-qui,
I would make sure you have the camera set to playback mode by setting the mode dial on top of the camera to the symbol that looks like a triangle inside of a rectangle. If this doesn't work the problem is most likely that your memory card has been formatted and there are no images on your memory card. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Cannot get the flash to work

The flash will not work in all modes
Make sure A (auto) is selected
The strange box you refer to may be the quality icon (a white box with a shaded box inside ?)
Try using a different flash mode instead of 'red-eye'
Make sure the battery is in good condition - try the mains adapter if you have one

You may have turned your screen off without knowing it. Does it have a eye piece viewfinder (part where you look through it)? If it does, can you look through it? If you can, that means your camera is still working. There should be a button on the camera to switch from eye-viewer mode to screen mode.

That's the best I got, maybe try to find something about that in the manual...

I have a Panasonic DMC-TZ4 camera. I am on vacation and my settings got changed. I do not have the manuel with me. My flash won't work for indoor pictures and I do not know how to change the settings. Help

One of the buttons on the back has a lightning bolt icon. In picture taking mode, press the button and watch the screen....it will cycle through auto flash, red-eye flash, flash off, etc.

Help me if you can, ASAP. Please.

The flashing eye has to do with the camera's red-eye reduction feature. Check to see that the little window below the flash on the front of the camera is clean, and make sure the lens is spotless. If that doesn't work, try de-activating the red-eye reduction using the camera menu.

Black dots mainly around eye area

The problem is caused by the down loading software. Both Photoshop elements and Canon package software have a red-eye fixing tool option, i can't remember which one is most problematic, but the simple solution is to untick the automatic red-eye fix on this software. Then assuming you have not formated the card, re-download the photos (you'll have to delete the ones you have previously downloaded with the black eyes- or give the new download a different file name) This should stop this happening.

Red Eye

i have a suggestion,

you can use Picasa2 to get rid of the red eye from your pics. however, this is installed on your computer and whenever you will take pictures, there will still be red eye. Picasa2 is very easy to use and you can get rid of the red eye in only matter of seconds.

download Picasa2 here
